now my question this time is about Recon/Sniper/Scout squad

i order to get the sniper and spotter kit you need 3 player in the squad !

why is that ? i mean IRL snipers usually work as pairs or sometimes solo as i heard or seen it on TV !

i like to scout and give info to my team in some maps thats why i like the role of the spotter !

when i make a Recon squad i usually have a Friend with me on TS if im playing alone i'll join infy or other squad so i can be more usefull to the team and enjoy the game !

so is there a chance that to request the sniper kit be 2 squad members !?

since the update is near to be released i would love to this change added !

Regards. :D
Used to be like that (2 man needed for sniper/hat/engineer kits) but devs changed it to 3. Probably to make kit stealing harder or stuff. No need to change it back imho.

"Recon squads" using TS instead of ingame Mumble are just a total waste of squad-slots. 1.:The fact that you don't use the squad radio means that anyone in your squad who is not "a friend of yours" won't be able to communicate properly with you and will start dicking around with Rifleman kits and waste tickets.
2.:The Squadleader of a normal infantry squad has just the same potential to spot and laze targets as a Spotter. And the 8 pairs of eyes of a full Inf-Sq always see more than the two or three of a "Sniper" or "Recon" squad.
3.:Vehicles and Helos will always see more than you do. While you are still trying to figure out what you are looking at, the APC with double zoom and thermals has already zeroed in on the target. This is especially true for INS maps.
4.:You will waste transport vehicles that are desperately needed by more important Infantry squads elsewhere. And no, Trans won't risk getting shot down just because you want to move to a different location every two minutes.
5.:It's just not worth to make a specialised sniper squad. They don't capture flags, they don't blow up caches, they can't defend locations without the help of another squad. But they block one of nine precious slots.
6.: Spotter kits should be reserved for the CAS squads, and used by people who know what they are doing.
7.: You aren't as effective as you think, you aren't as stealthy as you think, you won't make as many kills as you think.

i knew someone going to say that and get it all wrong !

i use both in game mumble and TS since i like to talk with my cosuin while we play online together !

also i dont do sniper squad that much and its just a question !
when i died we went back to pick up the kits again
i know the limits for kits !

we didn't waste anything and managed to spot and kill full squad with laze for CAS as you say spotter is good for CAS !

also there was a cool guy who took the medic with us and it was amazing as i was spotting for my shooter and also talking to the medic via in-game mumble !

sneaking into enemy lines and disrupt their plans !

also im not sniping in all maps so Burning sand was the best choise to sniper at the City !

that mean some maps need a sniper or spotter ! which can spot for infy who wanna push up or CAS who want laze !

everything you said is right ! but it seem's that your mad and hate Recon squads !

a good Spotter and Sniper are terrifying (psychological warfare) m8 :D

btw tip#7 is totall rage from you and it was the opposite what you said with the experience that i had with Recons

we know what we are doing and every one is free to do what ever they want in PR but still play by the rules i say !

but i'll take your comment as an advice !

Just saw the 1.35 announcement. Can't wait!

My only question for it, is do the new maps have co-op layers and bot support? And on a similar note, have any maps gotten updated/new coop layers?

0.1 of the minimod was released on 07-08-2005

Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

Thornehaw: If all this have been evidently true, Battlefield is a much scarier and dirtier than ever imagined. Not a conspiracy, but a possibility. If it is true, then trusting another is quite worrisome.

I can answer this, most of them are 2x2 km maps, but the Combat zones are much smaller, there is no 4x4 km vanilla map. the ones without jets are 1x1km mostly or 512x512m (i think thats the SF expansion)

Feel free to start running a 64p server if you believe it will be more stable.

they released a trailer (btw, they are the same devs from the medal of freedom mod, which can be found on moddb too)

here is the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFobbPXwfYQ

please watch this trailer til the end, i think you will recognize some of the content there :)

cheers

I would love to, but honestly, I would be a horrible server Admin.
