Thornehaw: If all this have been evidently true, Battlefield is a much scarier and dirtier than ever imagined. Not a conspiracy, but a possibility. If it is true, then trusting another is quite worrisome.

they released a trailer (btw, they are the same devs from the medal of freedom mod, which can be found on moddb too)

here is the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFobbPXwfYQ

please watch this trailer til the end, i think you will recognize some of the content there :)

cheers
What the hell did I just watch? That weird helicopter thing with 20 bombs? How is that even close to practical, lol. Looks like they did a pretty good job if that was their first mod.

Wow, they pretty much stole those models from BF and MoH. Such a shame.

Good Evening,

Will any of the Insurgency 2.0 items be included anytime soon like 1.3.5??? Maybe ???

Still waiting for that "commander" placed cache. That will go against the rules of some servers when it comes to "fighting" commander though. :p

I have been playing PR for couple of months now so you can say, and I consider myself, a new player. Anyway, there are couple of things that I would like to see implemented in this game, if possible of course.

First off, buddy system. Bad Company 2 had it. This greatly helps keeping the player base steady and the fun level pretty high. Just today I have played with some newcomers, and their first complaint was that there is now way to connect to other players/friends who they enjoying playing with. I, as a new player, have also found this to be a feature that is missing and would help to reach a bigger player base.

Also I can confirm that my game experience and fun, for that matter, greatly depends on squads SL. When playing with someone who obviously knows the game very well and is experienced can make a round very fun and intense. But obviously playing on public servers that is not often the case. So with my past experience playing Red Orchestra 2, for limited hours only tho, I would purpose a ranking system. A system that would require of you (the player) a certain ranking based on hours played and experience to be a SL.
In my opinion that would greatly increase overall game enjoyement for players and also give them a goal which they would be striving to achieve.

BTW did I mention how great this game is? :) :D

Not sure if you noticed but this is a ask a question thread :p In what we answer your question. What you post is a suggestion, not a question :)

Those are posted here: PR:BF2 Suggestions - Project Reality Forums

To answer your sug-question: Got to remember we are dealing with a 10year old engine here. Advanced changes to the way servers work aren't really possible. Hence a buddy system isn't going to become part of PR any time soon. Neither is lobbies, parties or any modern type networking you see in todays games. It's just not possible.

Ranking/stats isn't really in the minds of the team right now. It wouldn't boost or enhance gameplay while playing at all, it would mostly be an artificial extension outside of gameplay. As for locking certain features until you reach a 'rank', personally i think it's a very bad idea to lock away features or content simply cause some algorithm says you can't do it.

Oh.. sorry. I thought it was some sort of a question. I guess I should have read some previous posts prior to posting to see what this topic is really about. But thank you for replying to my suggetions anyway. And so quickly :D
Yes, I kind of thought so. But just wanted to get it out of the way since it was bugging me if it was possible :)

Insurgency 2.0 will not be present in 1.3.5 as I stooped working on it, the feedback I got from the test sessions was not what I was expecting plus I couldn't get an unanimous opinion regarding the changes, even within the team.
This made my motivation drop significantly specially when this occurred during a week where I was actually playing insurgency more often and having quite fun (rare I know but it happened).

Insurgency will get some love but nothing like commander placed cache.

Dont question the wikipedia! Just because it reports different things on different languages does not make it unreliable source!

I think your ideas would work really well in Squad! :)

Welcome to the forums!!! There are lots of "rules" and quid pro quos that you will no doubt discover, but most people are fairly respectful about it. As was mentioned, this mod is 10 years old, and these forums are even older! Imagine trying to assimilate ALL of that information before your first couple of posts! You couldn't possibly read or digest all of that information in a meaningful way.

To your point about buddy systems; it is sometimes difficult to get in the same server, on the same team, and in the same squad. No joke. However, I think that you'll find if you are more vocal (AND respectful), that you will be able to squad up with your buddies and have the fun time that you've been looking for. Just let your squad leader know what you are trying to do.

Better yet, learn the SL job and pick your squad!

With regards to the ranking system. That's a "no go" for me. You would be surprised by the number of people I have seen do amazing things with kits and roles that they only just picked up. Others may have been doing a role for years, and still have much to learn.

Also, it's just refreshing to play a game where you can do anything you want, use any kit you want, and get humbled in a hurry because you realize that you suck at it. Humility is as good thing in this game.

Anyway, always good to see new faces on the forums.

Since this is a question for the devs thread, I will end this post with this question:

Will the ATC make it into 1.4 when Falklands is expected (hopefully) to be released?

I have been excited about this ever since the first update about it. What a great addition to the game and totally new gameplay to an FPS!

Do you think In the future if EA releases a possibility to mod BF3/4/hardline, You would try to mod PR into one of them ?
