I rather have a counter than a nerfed/oversimplified system or no deviation whatsoever.cribbaaa wrote:Very nice, no need to count anymore! the deviation indicator should help ease new players in to the game.

Some people were experiencing some issues with Win10 and PRLauncher. There were some fixes made regarding that.

I don't understand why the indicator would be seen as problematic, it's equivalent of actually seeing your sight stabilize if the game had proper weapon sway.

How about when you are playing AR. It's completely gamechanging, makes the game much easier.cribbaaa wrote:I don't understand why the indicator would be seen as problematic, it's equivalent of actually seeing your sight stabilize if the game had proper weapon sway.

Well the same rule applies doesn't it? if PR had proper weapon sway, which it propably would have if the engine allowed it, you would be able to tell if your sight is stable or not.STompa wrote:How about when you are playing AR. It's completely gamechanging, makes the game much easier.

because it removes the nuance between experienced player and new player. it gives new players a handicap that the experienced players spent years getting used to.cribbaaa wrote:I don't understand why the indicator would be seen as problematic, it's equivalent of actually seeing your sight stabilize if the game had proper weapon sway.

Re: PR:BF2 v1.3.5.0 Changelog
Deviation wasn't a feature that was meant to raise the skill ceiling, it's there to emulate some degree of realism. The problem with it is that it was always a half-step because you could never tell visually if your aim was lined up right.Psyko wrote:because it removes the nuance between experienced player and new player. it gives new players a handicap that the experienced players spent years getting used to.
The way I see it new players are going to get to play the game on a higher level faster which in turn will force us to adopt better tactics instead of relying on aim since everyone will be deadlier than before.

Instead of fixing the millions of bugs you fuck up the gameplay by unnecessary bullshit that is contrary to the idea of this game jesus.

Re: PR:BF2 v1.3.5.0 Changelog
We'd rather want to see the new players focusing on how to make good tactics as soon as possible than seeing them struggling at hiting their targets, even after weeks of game, and giving up.
The fact that, mostly in infantry, your personal skills as a shooter (or should I say at mastering deviation with no indicator) doesn't make a big difference in the continuity of a round makes PR being very different from the other FPS games.
And the deviation got absolutely not modified.

Alright well in that case I hope you prove me wrong and that I'm just overreacting to it all. I trust Don's judgement but how I imagine this working ingame still concerns me. The rest of the patch looks great overall anyways.DonDOOM wrote:Lols at the guys making a big fuss about the deviation indicator.. Wait until you see what it actually looks like.

Jesus guys... the deviation indicator is tiny and it doesn't even attract attention if you're not intentionally focusing on it. It's two tiny little dots ontop of the compass arrow.

Re: PR:BF2 v1.3.5.0 Changelog
Well glad to hear. Just reading "Added deviation indicators to HUD" obviously scared the fuck out of me and others commenting here I guess. I imagined smth similar to the HAT brackets first, lol.[R-COM]Hulabi wrote:Jesus guys... the deviation indicator is tiny and it doesn't even attract attention if you're not intentionally focusing on it.
