Battlerecorder freezing

Post by STompa »

Hi. Ever since 1.3.5+ every single battle recorder I've tried to view has been freezing at a specific point of the game, often very early in. Is there any way to solve this and still view the BR somehow? Having a working BR system is important to catch glitchers/cheaters.

Example: Image From merk

Edit: Should I maybe post this as a bug report? Not sure what this is but move it if needed.

I noticed the same. I wanted to check something and it froze my game 2min into game. I couldnt even open Task Manager anymore, had to do a hard reset. But since it was late I just went to bed and didnt think much of it.

So is this a thing then?
Tried watching a BR yesterday but it froze after a cupple of minutes.
Had to CTRL/Alt/Del to turn it off.

Been having this same issue as well. BR will start normally and then immediately freeze within 20 to 30 seconds.

Is there anyone looking into this issue? It's made looking back on previous rounds to investigate reports downright impossible.

Time to make a bugreport I guess.

it's already fixed for 1.4 and there's even a workaround in the admin forums to help catch cheaters short term. So no, it's not forgotten about :-)

Is there some way you could make the workaround available to us plebs? I don't have access to the admin forums, but would love to be able to view some of these BR files and am having the same issues as described in this thread.

Battlerecorder is still crashing and I can't replay videos. Are there news about this bug?

Any chance the workaround to make battlerecorder could be posted publicly?

I have a broken replay I'd like to capture footage of and am prepared to do low-level programming/hexediting work to recover it, if it is possible. Does anyone have technical details of the problem?

EDIT: Found the bug report thread.

Any news on this? Is there a reason why the work-around is not being posted publicly in the interim?

Here you go.
'[R-DEV wrote:Mats391;2111238']People asked me to provide file that allows playing BR in 1.3.9. This is it :)

How to:
Download this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/164 ... server.zip
Copy your pr mod from mods/pr to mods/pr_edit (or other name if already taken).
Replace mods/pr_edit/content/objects_weapons_server.zip with the provided file.
Launch pr_edit through the bin folder of pr_edit.
Play BR files in there.

Important:
Using the provided objects_weapons_server.zip in normal PR will make you unable to play online. Make sure to create a copy!

Report any issues or questions you have.
Sorry for bugged BR

Same issue with my BR. But I noticed that when I record my lokal game, I can play the demo without having problems.

Quote Camo:
Launch pr_edit through the bin folder of pr_edit.
Play BR files in there.

I could not see the freaking pr_edit.exe, so i just started the PRLauncher.exe started the game and used th BR as usuall.

It works. Yipee. Many thanks
