Fresh Install: Instant Launcher Crash

Okay, so I've been struggling to get this damn game running all day. Starting again from ground zero, this is the error I receive immediately when trying to run the launcher:

My Documents > ProjectReality > Profiles folder contains 2 files (Global.con and GlobalLauncher.con), and the Default profile folder which only contains Profile.con. On an earlier install today, I got past this point by creating a couple of blank .con files (video and controls, I think) in my Documents folder, which managed to get the launcher running, and I got as far as making a profile and patching the game... which still wouldn't run.

I can try that again, because at least it's progress, but I was wondering if maybe I shouldn't try getting you guys to run me through this from scratch. This sucks.

If you can get to the launcher go to support and copy specs to clipboard and paste here.

Set games resolution in launcher or direct in profiles to match system resolution nothing under 60 hz refresh rate.

Bizarrely in w10 make profiles folder properties read only yes I know.....

There are some downloadable profiles posted in this topic search profiles.

Hey, so I got myself back to the launcher by adding blank Video/Controls.con files. Here's the support section:

When I try to run the game I get "1324: The selected display mode is not supported." Presumably because there is no display option set. No biggy, you'd think, but I can't change the display mode to a resolution (well... I can, but it doesn't save) and if I try to reset my profile options the launcher crashes.

This is pretty painful. >_<

By the way, I tried looking for the profile files using the forum search function but I didn't have any luck. :(

Firstly have you made the profiles read only like this? I think it has something to do with Onedrive.....

Image

go to run and type in dxdiag, then go to display 1 and post a screenshot please
PR graphics resolutions must match system and, like BF2 will not run under 60Hz.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/a0qm9ybeg3kl ... mszAa?dl=0 9but you shouldn't need them once we've stopped w10 erasing them....

The end of this thread found a roundabout solution

This thread is worth a read

install DirectX9 and Microsoft NET and C++
