Bots and airplanes.

I was wondering if bots can throw bombs / use rockets when in a plane.
Today there were 3 enemy bots in airplanes (mig 29 x2 and su 25). When they flew over me a couple of times they only activated their flares when approaching me (I was in a tank).

Yeah they do bomb and strafe with the canon(s) too,not so much sure about the rockets(local gameplay).
In online coop,have rarely seen any bomb drops or rockets, perhaps because they are killed by us too soon.

Well in vanilla BF2, Bot jets can bomb, dogfight using cannons/ rockets etc so yes.

I haven't seen a single bomb attack since I restarted playing PR this year. About the only thing I've seen a bot jet do is shoot some air-to-air missiles. Back in the day the bots would bomb, or shoot their cannon, at pretty much anything that moved on the ground. I would fear the sight of a bot jet in the sky. Today all I'd really do is give a warning to allied aircraft, and if I had nothing better to do grab an AA kit to take a pot shoot.

The change is very noticeable in the revamped Kashen where the AAV is pretty much pointless, where before an AA squad was a must. It is sad really since jets are suppose to be such a powerful asset, yet seem to impact the game less then a BDRM-2, or M113.

They do drop bombs for sure. I've been bombed many times while in a tank, on Kashan and Khamisiyah. They'll usually fly over you first then do 2 bomb runs, the 2nd one will most likely kill you.

Sometimes Bots drop bombs like absolute pros, I mean they can drop them when perpendicular to the ground and still hit you with in 10 m.

I wondered this as well but yesterday I did see some bot bombing of tank formations. However it does not seem to be as frequent.

I also wonder about jets in Coop. I assume there are bot jets and human only jets. On Silent Eagle there is a bot jet on the German Runway but it explodes every time a bot get's in it (damn enemy sabotage !). Jet's on other maps are inside hangars and I doubt the AI would even manage to taxi them on to the runway but these must be human only. I'd prefer that all jets were both bot and human and placed ready for takeoff on Coop maps, but I realise many of these setups are aimed at Coop players (I tend to play with bots).

Bot jets have dumbed down flight physics, the bots are unable to fly regular planes because of the flight model.

last i checked jets actually do a dry run and then tend to bomb you if you're in a vehicle, if not they choose to strafe, haven't seen anything of rockets.
not sure if it was intentional or not but if i'm correct the dry run and then attack run method is actually quite realistic lol
