Don't small caliber weapons on cas have considerable splash? I imagine a 20mm fired out of a vulcan would be similar to a grenade on impact.

small caliber as in 7.62 and 12.7mm

I can see how this is confusing...Before, the viewdistance was 1000m but the fog max range was ~700m so you couldn't see the last 300 meters anyway, now the fog max range has been increased to 950m, but visually the fog has been reduced, so you can see more at longer distances...
