prbf2.exe has stopped working

Hey, I was having a problem with the game every time I launch the game it send the msg "prbf2.exe has stopped working".
I tried restarting my laptop but nothing happened it just kept doing the same. I left it for about 2mins. and when I tried again it worked but then I had problems with mumble even when I restart it nothing changes so I tried restarting the game and now it keeps sending the same msg when I try to launch it.

I had this issue too. It weirdly turns out that I have to have my headphones plugged in to make the game be able to launch...

I don't use headphones

Sure you got directx9 redistributables?


Try making a new Windows user with nothing on it and see if it works.

Thanks for the help, it worked when I disabled Avast Shields but I'm having a problem with mumble it doesn't work even after restarting while in-game any ideas ?

that's way too vague. Alt Tab and open mumble from the tray after joining a server and spawning in. Check the mumble console
Does it "link to prbf2"?
Does it connect to the server?
Did you set it up properly (Configure -> settings)

Close the game, Go to Project Reality BF2\mods\pr\bin\PRMumble
Run prmumble.exe

Server->Connect->Add new
IP 212.227.53.118
Port 64740
Fill in username and label with whatever, connect to it
Post mumble console log

Can't find such a folder.

Deleted it but still got the same problem even tried to connect to 212.227.53.118 but still it doesn't work.

Go to PRBF2.exe in ProjectReality File and in properties go to compatibility and uncheck Run as Administrator and try to lainch it now , it worked for me .
