I made the original turboprop icon. Was never happy with the wings, it's very hard to get that right.

Might want to check out FH2? They have plenty of prop planes.

Current progress. Boats and HMG missing. I had no idea what some icons were supposed to represent, so I just followed my stomach. Also improved some icons a little bit (mainly helis)

Edit: removed pictures as they are outdated. Look below for newest ones

Notice me Rhino :-o

I now have made a 32x32 version for every 16x16 "*.tga" icon in the menu_client.zip/hud/texture/ingame/vehicles/icons/minimap folder.

I have improved the jet icons, rly like them now and I hope different versions get implemented.

Sorry for the delay been busy but the new icons are looking really good! :D

First on the jeeps, finding it a bit hard to tell what is meant to be what, can you explain what they are? Also might be worth trying to do a "TOW Jeep" / ATGM Jeep Icon?

Also think it's worth doing the AAVP7 icon? :)

A few small changes, marked in red for new black, yellow for new white:

Trucks, with transports having seats and filling in the area for the crate:

ADVs and ATGMs, not sure what the bottom left on is meant to be? The spikey missile ends might not work that well, have to see but think the ATGM carrier needs them to show which way is forwards.

APCs, IFVs and Tanks are looking good, although hard to tell exactly what each of the first three APCs are, other than light APCs with MGs?

Choppers are all looking really good too. Only one that slightly bothers me is the Chinook which has two sets of quad-rotors instead of tri-rotors but it will do :)

Think these changes to the MV22 will help :)

Jets are looking good but I'm not a fan of your "Dagger" or your Harrier GR3. Here is what I'm thinking, based on the camo of these jets (and this is just for PR:F mind you too), where the Dagger has yellow stripes down its wings and the Harrier GR3 has a camo where the Mirage doesn't. You could even possibly try doing this with these additions done in grey rather than just plain black and white and see how that works out?

As for the Anti-Ship jet, your current is fine for the current Anti-Ship Mirage but hopefully soon we should have the Super Etendard coming in to replace that and would be good to have an icon for that all ready and waiting, although keep your current icon until it comes in :D
Would also be good if you can somehow show the Exocet on it too, which is always under the right wing, replacing one of its external fuel tanks:

Other jets are looking good, although think the TBP could use some guns sticking out of its wings?

Boats are also looking good although for the Sampan, could use an Armed version with a MG on its front? would help to see which way it was heading too and could possibly be thinner too if possible?

Stationary weapons are good although I think your Arty icon (I'm guessing that is what it is?) from your commander icons is much better than the map icon and a few small edits to the Tigercat and RH202:

Also what is the difference between the two HMG icons, is one on a 360 tripod and the other not?

Also think your UAV icon (think that's what it is?) could use some work, right now it looks like just a blown up version of the current vBF2 icon?

can we get again some ingame screens? Curious how they look then. I know it's a bit of work so don't need to do them all IMO. Just to get a sense if it works well.

Worked on this with Heide. The icons are more a symbolic representation, than a top-down view. Basically:
Blanc icons = open jeeps
Striped icons = jeeps with roof
Filled icons = jeeps with heavy protection (MRAP, Heide asked for this)

And the same exist with a weapon on the back.

The TOW jeep should just use the light or medium ATM icon. I can change the current medium ATM icon to something different if you want. Please read the topic again. I explain the reasoning there quite well.

I dont see the reason why the AAVP would need a different icon. I simply suggest to classify
Stryker - Light APC
AAVP - Medium APC
LAV - Heavy APC

Note that a Light APC is NOT a shitbox. They have their own classifications. I suggest checking out the spreadsheet to see the classifications.

The icon you are showing here is the Arty icon. The other one was supposed to be the stationary AT gun (like on kozelsk).
Idk what its called. Would help to improve the icon

One is HMG, other one is tripod dishka

Cool, but might be better to do more of a top down view, with roofed jeeps to be the blank icons (although worth adding a windscreen?), and for open jeeps to have seats inside? For heavy projection jeeps, how about doing the double black sides like you've done for the armoured trucks?

Ye see what you mean but think it would be good to have the icon look more like the actual vehicle it is representing and think it is worth a try to see what you can do?

Well again with it being visually different from most APC shapes and also the fact that it's amphibious.

The standard MTLB icon could also use its MG more on the front right, with a tiny turret?

Ah ye, a stationary AT gun/cannon is what it is called hehe :)
Ye, needs its own icon and think you can probably improve on the old one, make it a bit more like the RH202 AAA icon just with one big barrel, with thinner shield and legs etc than it currently has and possibly add the wheels on the side? :)

Predator/Reaper UAVs are the most commonly known types with also many other UAV types using the same kinda shape etc. Main thing is long, straight boxy wings at around the centre, small tail with "pusher prop" on the back and a big nose front, which I would exsadurate a bit on the minimap icon making it wider than the fuslarge :)

Ye since the icon is already a 32x32px icon but the difference is that ingame it is set to use a size of 32 rather than the default 16 so it is twice the size of any normal icon on the minimap, so to be in the new level of detail I will probably need to redo it in 64x64px :)

Your helicopters are so frigging good. It's really only the jets that I dislike because in comparison they just seem to lack so much detail.

What is the point of the current and proposed asset classifications?

server rules>asset classes[current/proposed]>vehicles

v1.4.17 public server vehicle claiming rules: "Transport, Mech Inf/APC, Tank/Armour/SPG, CAS"

Unless a new, simplified classification system matches the server rules, I think there will still exist an unnecessary layer of confusion regarding asset classes.

Can we assign every vehicle an individual asset name and icon?

What is the point of the current and proposed asset classifications?
