Weird lag? Vid inside [SOLVED]

Post by Duvelz »

Hi guys & girls? ;)

So im new to PR, and im currently loving the game!
But i have a weird lag thing..

Let me try to explain:

So when i move like 180°, its like it goes back some degrees to were i turn from.
Also it lags when running, etc...

I do not have it on a local game, so it think it must be lag?
FPS does not drop when it occurs.
I have about 60-80fps, so i dont think its a hardware issue?

My specs in short:
- FX8350 clocked to 4.35ghz
- R9 270X 4gb
- 10GB(1333mhz) RAM

I have record a video of it: you can roughly see it when i turn. its hard to record it.
Video is made on EU server with a ping of 16ms with 0 players online. (fps is locked on 60fps for record.)

What i tried?

- Updated all drivers if possible
- Lowered the gfx on LOW & 1600x1200 (gets me about 100fps thats all)
- pb_sleep 500 folowed by pb_writecfg in console
- OC gfx card
- changed T1 to cable
- reinstalled and downloaded with torrent

Someone could help me out or had a similar problem?

Thanks in advance

Its a networking/prediction issue. I'd blame the server or the engine. Nothing can be done much if its the latter.

Tried different servers though, no difference, maybe its because i live in Belgium?

Speedtest results, nothing wrong with that...

Speedtest will not show packet loss or server hiccups.

So basically, i am the only one who has this problem?

/EDIT

Not the only one:

This is the same thing, only even worse.

/EDIT 2

User says it was internet based.

I have tried in cmd for pinging a server from PR, it says i have 0% packet loss...

Cmd ping doesn't send nearly enough packets to see a problem.
Are you using WiFi?

There's an ancient app for Windows that allows you to track packet loss it's called "WinMTR". You can get it from SourceForge or from git. It's simple and outdated even grandpa can deal with it.

One thing. If you're using UTP cable(FTP cable is usually used for exterior wiring) you shouldn't be getting 6% of packet loss to your modem. 1 meter UTP cable shouldn't be giving you any packet loss at all. I recommend you to check cable and modem first.

My bad i mean UTP cable :)

Well, im having an odd thing though,

I have an older computer connected to the same internet,

And guess what... 0% packet loss ??? So it must be something wrong with me pc to the modem...

Image

Any ideas?

What i did after that..

- NEW UTP cable
- reset modem (router BBOX3)
- switched cables

/EDIT

So i just installed PR on a very old computer, put it on very low gfx,..

And guess what?...

I don't have lag :tired:
So it really has to do with packet loss.

First, to be sure it is network related, try to run a map in local, you should not have any problem.

Also, you can look for antivirus : try to disable both "live control" and firewall.
You can look for CPU or HDD usage, it happen to me when there is update on background. It seems not related but enough to have this lag.
And on your modem, look in the option for firewall, QoS options (QoS mean quality of service, it give priority and dedicated bandwith for different port aka 80 for web browsing, video streaming, and gaming)

Hi, let me sum up

- As stated, no problem in a local game
- Firewall is completely off from pc
- No updates running
- Firewall is set to Low (cant put off firewall from modem)
- port 80 is open

Well. If you look closely you would see, that loss of packets begins on 3rd hop. Do you have an ADSL connection? I would recommend you to contact your internet provider tech support.

PROBLEM SOLVED !!

After long looking after that packet loss, and found it from 2 things,

i had set to my ethernet adapter to 100mbs instead op 1gbs, that has solved a bit,
then i had a .exe running in the background, for a program i need in the school, i closed it.

and then i had.... 0% packet loss to 'mymodem',

So i thought i got it fixed?!
Well it was not the packet loss that i had lag...

So i did an upgrade to Win 10, and now my problem is finally fixed.. Who thought that?

Thanks for all the help,

Cya on the battlefield! 8-)
