Cant create account

hi,im trying to create account but when i fill in the information and press create nothing happens and the back and create tab become greyed out....

Thanks for the report. We will investigate the issue. I checked and new accounts to get created, it is just the GUI not updating correctly. Please try to use the "Retrieve Existing Account" option after creating the account.

i tried doing all these things as well including retrive account but it says theres not one registered and it still wont work can your please help i would love to play online thanks

Hi is there a fix for this yet ive been trying everything for 2 days even reinstalled windows
Redownloaded PR.

ive tried registering new account logging out retrieving via email and username NOTHING works
just greyed out buttons.

Any ideas, i downloaded the 1.50 download on the main download page so i am guessing that without the patch to 1.5.3.3 that the downloaded 1.50 has the problem with being unable to retrieve or create ?

when i create it goes grey so i close the box after some time then go to retrieve via email and it says no account with this email is registered, so i don't get it and its hard to see if anything is happening as you don't know if its registering the new email as the boxes just go grey and the sign up box does nothing else

you cant hit the back button either as that also goes grey all you can do id hit X to close the box im running launcher as admin reinstall windows done everything help would be great

the exact error is

"550:Tthere are no associated profiles registered with this email Address"

crazy thing is if i try to recreate with same email and username it says 516: provided account name is already in use please try another name !!!!!.

How can it be in use if its telling me theirs no associated profiles with this email Address ?

yet i just used the very same email to register and hit the button that turns grey

so how can i create or retrieve if the damn thing wont even accept a sign up using my Outlook Email Address ???

right now it is impossible to create a new account

In order to retrieve from email, you also have to enter valid password. Are you certain you entered correct one? If you are unsure you can send me the email address + md5 of password you are trying to retrieve.
As for retrieving by username, no idea why it isnt working for some. It is working fine for me :S

Another solution you can do is retrieving the account w/o the launcher. For that go to

...\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles

and create a new folder caller ProfileXXXX where XXXX is the next free number. If there is no profile folder yet, use 0001, if that is used 0002 etc. In there create a text file called "Profile.con" with these values

LocalProfile.setNick "YourAccount"
LocalProfile.setGamespyNick "YourAccount"
LocalProfile.setEmail "YourEmail"

Then the profile should show up on the profile selection screen. Then copy all the *.con (except Profile.con) files from Profiles\Default to the new folder.

Ok so i did everything you said none of it works

i created the new profile0001 folder
made the file extensions visible changed the .txt to .con edited the file

put the new nick in on the 3 lines

LocalProfile.setName "YourAccount" <<here
LocalProfile.setNick "YourAccount" << here
LocalProfile.setGamespyNick "YourAccount" << here
LocalProfile.setEmail "YourEmail" << set my email here too
there is no password or MD5 of a password either

so i then copied the audio
and the video cons over

ended with a new folder called Profile0001
with 3 files named

Audio.con
Profile.Con
Video.con

opened the launcher as Admin

nothing all i see is two blue boxes that says



" CREATE NEW ACCOUNT"



" RETRIEVE EXISTING ACCOUNT"




So making the new folder in documents did nothing, stil can not log in still can not retrieve via email OR nick

like i say though it says when i try to retrieve via email

there are no associated profiles registered with this email Address, but if that's the case

why when i switch to create new account using that same email and Nick does it say nick already in use i think the Create account GUI needs fixing is what i think.


from what i can gather when you click create the GUI is not creating a new profile folder nor updating it or anything
i just tried with a different nick same email the box goes grey like nothing else happens it will sit there forever like overnight when i slept wake in morning still got create account box with grayed out buttons.

So i make a new Email i restart PC go back to launcher set to run as ADMIN click create new account box goes grey i make a cup of tea wait 15 minutes look in the documents , No new profile folder created, i close the launcher create box as all other options are grayed out cant go back cant click create only hit the X top right to close.

I reopen it i go to retrieve via email buttons go grayed out again nothing happens tried this now on 2 different PC's and i am not the only one having this problem as you can read above there are other people and probably more who just cant be bothered to make a forum account simply to try and fix a problem with a game they just downloaded.

So if this ain't working on 2 Windows 10 PC's with 2 separate downloads i don't know what to say except your Account creator is broke so defiantly needs looking at.

The account gets created, just not retrieved properly.

Since you get a "username already exists" when trying to create account again, we can probably rule out network issues. try making sure you're on the latest version (arrow next to play -> check for updates)

Ruling that out, could it maybe be permission issues? Maybe the launcher failing to write the profile and doesn't handle the failure with a proper error message.

Can you try running as admin?

Create OFFLINE account, what ever name you wish. After that you can get to launcher and update to 1.5.3.3. After update the retrieving and creating online account works again.

Sure, but those who install PR for the first time or re-install can't even get to the launcher? After install you get, Play, visit website and quit.

Choose play and prompt for creating new account or retrieving old account via email or username. So it is kind of hard to update by clicking arrow > check updates
