No attacking DOD.

We do allow DOD attack when all other flags are capped...now that the bleed is so fast when capped out allowing the attack of DOD when capped out has little bearing...

Muttrah, going back to the 24/7 Muttrah days it is just considered different based on the traditional rules that evolved out of playing that map 10,000 times...We hold a special love for Muttrah. It is out favorite child and gets the best gifts from us.

I believe you like to have a little power play once in a while, and a lot of people know this about you already. But listen: This destroys the experience for everyone. So use your Adminrights responsible and stop acting like this with Veterans and Newbies likewise.

Makes a little more sense with capable.

Not too many repair stations that are outside of DOD, but it might be interesting on some of them.

Soul Rebel both repair stations are on the main Island and out of DOD, the brits repair station is on their second cap and the russians on their second too.

Pavlosk repair stations are in L9K3 and F1K7 outside flags and another one in RU main.

The repair station rule was a tough call...if it proves too difficult for the players to defend or coordinate a defense, once they learn what will happen....then we will revisit it.

Problem is that if we develop map specific rules for every map it will be difficult to keep track of it all and it will make the game play linear...

Then if the other team cannot attack areas with repair stations can the defending team build fobs/aa/mortars...there and if so how close and can the other team attack them...

Similar to the issues with Swamp building mortars on the edge of DOD or armor sitting just outside DOD...it seems that more rules lead to even more rules....Its has proven very difficult to admin the airplanes from attacking main bases and within DOD...every time we play those maps there is an argument and a kick or two...its blows up allchat and goes on and on... We have given consideration to allowing planes to attack main bases and let the teams defend there too....they do have AA/Tows...the learning curve would be awful but it may prove to be more in the spirit of the game considering the DEVs set up defensive weapons systems there...

There is also an argument to be made that the game could be updated to include DOD areas around the areas that were not meant to be in the field of play...

could make it somthing like "You can shot into DOD if you are shot at from inside DOD". Its fairly easy to police that if you have an admin on either team.

Is that easy to police though? You can't see everything. It just becomes one player's word against another's.

I mean if you're ever unsure, theres PRISM that HOG already runs and Tracker, Anything more then that BR also shows it.

Ya so the admin, who is squad leading or flying or driving, has to stop playing and look at the tracker...decide who shot first...deal with 10 minutes of allchat accusations...there is no good answer....unless u just make DOD attackable.

Then make it don't fire into or out of DOD. Doesn't matter who starts it then.

It already is that way...and players do it everyday....report it and then we have to go find them to get them...make sure the report is correct ...5 times a round....

Please don't post people's public IPs in their ban appeal threads, some people have static IPs and what you're doing can possibly fuck them over.

HOG will be shut down for Fri Sat and back sometime Sunday to punish us for posting a SS from the SA forum.

HOG will not be online this weekend during EU day hours as punishment for a lack of proper communication and actions by the Server administrators representing HOG here and in the wider community. Most notably Super_6_5 and Haley have shown a lack of professional messaging in the last months with impulsive posts, posting information from the private forum in the public, something that isn't allowed to protect all involved, posting player IP addresses on multiple occasions,... This screenshot mentioned by Haley, is not the only offense for this punishment, just the last drop in the bucket.

This is not somehow biased again HOG, we don't work in that way. And I and the people before me have warned and infracted others for similar offenses in the past from every community out there. We had very limited options however. We wouldn't remove their license as this would not be fair towards anyone. We couldn't remove Super or Haley from the SA list as this would be the opposite of what we want, proper communication. This would give us no communication with the HOG team. And warnings have happened enough in the past.

So I decided to disable public access to their servers for this weekend. Something well within our rights as license administrator. As a short but clear example to improve in the future their way of working with us and the wider community. This has nothing to do with how HOG runs its server or other services.

We hope that after this weekend we can continue with the current HOG admin representation here with a clean slate. Further communication won't happen from our side within the public forum but in private with HOG.

Thread locked until after the weekend ban is over.

Ban lifted. I had fruitful conversations with HOG administration over the weekend and have a good hope that the future can be with a less isolated feeling HOG, a more communicative PR team and a better conversation between both parties as a result.
