cannot start launcher

I installed Project Reality yesterday because Squad just isn't my cup of tea but when I attempt to load it I get this error message

I checked my Documents folder but there doesn't seem to be anything for PR there. Only a "default" profile, but nothing about "video".

Delete the my documents PR folder and run PR as admin.

I did that, but the ProjectReality folder keeps getting turned to "read only" when I start PR and I get the same error again

bump, still don't know what to do about the read-only folder

There shouldn't be an issue with the folder being set to read-only. "Delete the ProjectReality My Documents folder and run as admin" is the only solution I can think of.

If that still really doesn't work and you're sure that you're running as admin, make a new Windows user and try there.

iWhat about asking a friend with same screen for their folder?

Not really a solution, but a possible workaround.

Solution found!

I downloaded the files here and added all of the missing ones to my Default folder

then I started the launcher and made a new profile. Then I repeated adding the files into the new profile I just made (0001) in my case, set the video options and then put Video.con on "read only".
