I am using a turtle beach headset which as a joint headphone microphone 3.5mm jack. I do not have the correct input for it so i have to plug it into an xbox controller and then plug it into my computer using usb. (Mostly likely this is the problem) I have messed with the settings for hours. I have messed with the sound settings, PR settings, Realtek settings. If you could please help that would be much appreciated.
Windows 10 64bit, MSI - B250M PRO-VD Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard and Pentium G4560 and EVGA GTX 1050 ti.
I plan to get a splitter to slip my one headphone/mic port to a split mic and headphone jack port. This will probably fix it. My other plan is to just buy Squad as steam and its games do work.

You should check Mumble settings. The game itself has no access to mumble settings. PRLauncher has very limited access to mumble settings, can only edit keybindings there, which should not be the issue.
Open mumble manually and try to configure it there.
Its at PR folder/mods/pr/PRMumble/PRMumble.exe
Alternatively make sure its set as default recording device in windows, that should be enough for default mumble settings.

I have already messed with all of the settings inside the mumble application.

Re: Please Help Mic not working
Join a server, alt tab and open mumble from the tray (next to the clock). Find your name on mumble and see if your icon lights up when you talk. If not, something is wrong with the key bindings.
Next, at settings -> output, you have "Loopback test". Set it to "server". Try to talk and see if you can hear yourself (Note, if you keep it on anything other than None, no one can hear you, put it back to None later).
Alternatively, try Configure -> Audio Wizard. There are some annoying things there left over from original mumble that aren't used, but you won't have to join a server.

Re: Please Help Mic not working
thanks for your help, i have tried testing it in game but to no avail. The audio wizard recognizes that my mic is connected but does not pick up any noise when I talk. All other applications such as discord or steam apps work with my mic, but mumble does not.

Re: Please Help Mic not working
Some applications or programs may attempt to take exclusive control over an audio input or output such as a microphone. This is generally unnecessary and often can lead to problems in custom setups.
One good way to ensure this is not the problem in your case is to disable Exclusive Mode for each of your active Playback and Recording devices under Windows "Manage Audio Devices" in the sound settings.
Click on Properties for each device you use, select the Advanced tab along the top, and Uncheck the box next to "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"

Easiest solution would be to not rely on USB connected microphone. Keep things simple.

Re: Please Help Mic not working
Hello,
I am having the same kind of issue.
I have Winblows 10
I am using an X-Fi Forte 7.1 sound card, Philipo X2HD's with a V-MODA BoomPro mic that plugs into the AUX of the Headset and then a mic/sound splitter into the headphone output on the X-Fi and the mic input on the X-Fi. (links at the bottom)
Ill start my pc and everything is fine. The 'Test your mic' in sound settings shows that its picking up sound. I also go into sound control pannel>Recording Tab and it shows everything is working correctly and I can see the mics picking up sound. Just to double check, I enable 'listen to this device'. everything is fine. Disable listen to this device. I then go into pr and get into a server and for the start everything is fine. then after a while I notice no one is responding to me. I then open sound settings and notice the test your mic is no longer picking up sound, I then go to sound control pannel and click on recording at which point the whole control panel freezes. I can right click the control pannel on the task bar and close it from there with no problem.
In order for me to get my recording tab to go back to normal and get my mic to start working again I have to restart my PC.
This is very annoying, espesially if im trying to give important information or im on a server that is full.
I have tried reinstalling windows from scratch without keeping any files (luckely its a new pc so I dont have anything important on it) but this dosn't achieve anything.
I have searched online but cannot find anything that has solved the issue.
I thought it might have been the realtek or amd drivers so i didnt install them on the fresh Windows install but that hasent changed anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S I have been playing PR for a few monthes now and this problem only started occuring a week or 2 ago.
