So I decided to reinstall PR after a while to check it out, and when I finished downloading the torrent version for 1.5 I clicked autorun. Everything went smooth until an error popped up after I chose a directory for the files to install onto. The message reads: "cannot find the latest version to install" and something about an error 500 status. The files ended up installing alright, however when I tried to launch the launcher it gives me the following message:
>System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Users\rowang\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles'.
File name: 'C:\Users\rowang\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles'

Anyone know how to fix this? This is supposed to be a fresh install. Again I downloaded the qBitTorrent version 1.5 and then extracted the files using winrar.

Re: Fresh install "Missing profile"
run the prbf2.exe executable one time from inside the windows explorer.
..\Program Files (x86)\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\PRBF2.exe
It will oad, then tell you you have to start it from the installer. Close it out.
For some reason your windows blocked the creation of the user profile file on first run, that is the missing file.
THen start it through the installer, and you should be up and running.

Re: Fresh install "Missing profile"
Yeah I did everything you did but it didn't work. I'll give you the specifics of the error.
When I activated the "setup" file I see a message saying: "Unable to obtain latest version information... Error is as follows - HTTP Status: 500"
Then when I hit yes the files install onto "programfiles86/projectreality/projectrealitybf2"
The files are all on there, however when I followed your instructions and clicked on PRBF2.exe and got the messages as follows: "LOCERROR_unable to open profile" and the message box: "You must use the Project Reality: BF2 launcher to play this game"
So I exited from PRBF2 and went to the next step per your instruction and went to "setup" I went through the process and pressed finish installation. Then when I clicked on the launcher again it hit me with the same message as above.

Re: Fresh install "Missing profile"
Also to note, I watch MikeMei's installation video and copied everything he did. I already had PunkBuster Services installed on my computer for my other games (version 0.992) so I guess that's why it didn't show up in the installation setup.
I tried to reinstall it and it gave the same Error HTTP Status 500 message. Then when the installation reaches the end it gave me the message "lPersistFile::Save failed; code 0x80070002. The system cannot find the file specified." When I clicked OK the installer said "finishing installation" for a couple seconds before the window changed to one saying "Setup has finished installing PRoject Reality BF2 onto your computer, application may be launched by selecting installed icons." Then I clicked "finish" and got a popup with the PR dogtags and three options "Play", "Visit Website" and "Exit". Then a message appeared saying a critical error has occured and that it couldn't find the profiles.
Here's the error log:
Could not find file 'C:\Users\rowang\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles'.

I'm sure this is the same error message it to report, so I tried to implement your solution.
I went and did what you told me to do, went to prbf2.exe, game loaded and told me to fire up the prlauncher
went to mods/pr/bin, found the prlauncher with the prupdater file as well. Set both to run as admin. clicked on prlauncher.exe and got the same message.
Now at this point I'm confused by your language, when you say "installer" are you referring to the installer as in the "setup"/"autorun" files or the prlauncher?
Anyway, when I clicked on prlauncher it just gave me the same message saying that:
Could not find file 'C:\Users\rowang\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles'.

So I decided to take your words literally and went to the installer to install the files AGAIN into the program files86/project reality/ directory and waited for the installation to finish. I got the same error code saying persistfile failed etc. then I hit play when the PR logo showed up and it gave me the same message as the file above.
