(WIN10)PR:BF2 has closed, cleaning up resources

Post by JohnnySmith04 »

Hey sooo i've been playing the game since a few month now but about 2weeks ago the game suddenly stopped working. After i started the launcher and logged in , there's a quick blackscrenn and the message "PR:BF2 has closed, cleaning up resources " appears https://ibb.co/nDk6zKX
NET.Framework is newest,DirectX -June 2010 ,latest PR win10 and driver update
I also tried window and lower resolution mode which gave me this error message -
https://ibb.co/pKgZSDw
Would be nice if someone helps me.. Looking forward to answers
Sincerely Jonas

Launch windowed and see if you get an error message.

If its something about 800x600 resolution, profile is probably corrupted and it defaults to a shitty 2003 resolution nothing supports these days. Delete the PR folder in my documents and make sure you run as admin.

Delete the PR folder in my documents and run the launcher as admin. That's what always solves it.

The issue is either the launcher is unable to write the profile files or the game is unable to read the profile files, or you set this bad resolution on the Launcher.

The files are in:
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\(Number of your profile in launcher)

Hello guys, i had the same problem and the game doesn't open (https://ibb.co/nDk6zKX), i've tried everything (from reinstaling 3 times, compatibility, resolution, diferent configurations), and the program update has gave me an error when i tried to update the game (saying that PRUpdater.exe not found).
MY SOLUTION: I went to the game folder and launch by the PRLauncher.exe instead of the desktop shortcut, click in loggin with steam, update, and the game updates, now the game is running offline and online! (I hope that this help) (and i don't know why this solved the problem)

This is unrelated to the thread. 'PR:BF2 has closed, clearing up resources' is not an error message and says nothing except the fact that the game crashed. It does not indicate the reason of crash in any way.

PR v1.6.3.0 which comes with the newest installer is missing a crucial file and that makes the game crash. That was your issue. The missing file was added in 1.6.3.1 and this fixes the client crash.

The shortcut issue and solution is also known and it was fixed in one of the newer patches.
