Installed game, shuts down after pressing play without errors
Hello everyone,
I downloaded and installed the game as in the manual, everything seems fine until I press 'play'.
If I do it in full screen, it just shuts down (image 1). If I don't do this in full screen, it gives me the error of image 2.
I downloaded DirectX 9, .NET framework and Visual C++ as requested.
Thanks in advance.

Use the "Custom resolution" field in video settings. Just put your normal resolution there.

I tried it with the 'Custom resolution', even if my resolution was available above that. It still does not work and just shuts down again.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you selected the correct profile in video settings?
The other solution is forcing your GPU to support 800x600 resolution. The game tries that resolution before loading the real resolution (unless you set it with custom resolution)

The issue is the game setting 800x600 before applying the selected one and your system doesn't support 800x600. I posted 2 ways that should fix it.whiskey23 wrote:hi bro... did you already got the fix for that? i have the same issue...

Re: Installed game, shuts down after pressing play without errors
I was just wondering if you meant that we have to set the "Custom Resolution" to 800x600 or is it something else?
I tried setting my recommended resolution (image 1) to "Custom Resolution", it did not work.
I tried setting 800x600 as "Custom Resolution", it did not work either.
So before I force my GPU to accept it, I want to ensure I did these things right..
Thanks

Put 1920 1080 in custom resolution, not 800 600.

No, set custom resolution in the launcher to your native resolution (in this case 1920x1080)SeventyMinus1 wrote:I was just wondering if you meant that we have to set the "Custom Resolution" to 800x600 or is it something else?

Are you absolutely sure you selected the right profile?
Just force your GPU to accept 800x600 through NVidia control panel, and let me know if its still a problem in 1.6

Re: Installed game, shuts down after pressing play without errors
So I tried forcing my GPU to accept 800x600 resolution. I first tried it in the NVIDIA control panel, there it seems I have no option to change the resolution.. (image)
Then I tried it with the Intel graphics control panel and yes indeed the game started
BUT there was a warning that playing on this resolution would reduce the lifetime of this processor drastically and it is also not easy to have a resolution of 800x600 for all applications..
So I ask you, do you know how to fix the NVIDIA panel which is made for this purpose?
Thanks for helping me untill this point, I appreciate the help a lot!

Re: Installed game, shuts down after pressing play without errors
If Intel control panel worked then you're playing on your integrated GPU and not the NVidia one.
You're not really playing on that resolution, it just needs to be a valid resolution that is used for a split second before the profile is loaded and the correct one is applied.
Let me know if its still needed in 1.6 because I could hack around it another way if my fix doesn't work.

Re: Installed game, shuts down after pressing play without errors
O okay if it is only for a split second it is fine, I thought the whole game was in 800x600 resolution. So there is no problem anymore, you fixed it for me, thank you!
I can start it now in normal resolution and my Intel accepts the split second of 800x600 resolution now, so you don't have to change a thing, the game works!
Thank you very much and see you on the battlefield!
