warning 1320 / DynamicOption 800x600 Crash

Post by Mineral »

If you experience this warning or the crash related to 'unknown DynamicOption value 800x600', it means that your graphics card (GPU) does not support the required resolution of 800x600 to start PR:BF2. While you may have set a different resolution in the options, BF2 still requires this resolution when it first starts up.

Several (mostly laptop) graphic drivers don't support 800x600 resolutions by default so you'll need to add it manually.

We recommend this tutorial on how to add it depending on your GPU brand:
https://appuals.com/how-to-create-custo ... 7-8-or-10/

IF you are unsure what your GPU is please perform the following steps:
  1. Click Start
  2. on the Start menu, click Run
  3. in the Open box, type dxdiag, and then click OK.
  4. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. Click the Display tab, where information about your graphics card is shown in the Device section.

You do not need to run the game at 800x600. Your GPU Driver just needs to support that resolution.

This isn't new. It would still crash BF2 in certain circumstances since the beginning. We just added a check for it with a cleaner PR Launcher warning for some cases.

Well i've tried the steps in the tutorial and still no fix for me. I've added a custom resolution in AMD software and with CRU tool.

I can't find the registry file.

Here's my images if anyone can spot anything i've done wrong: https://imgur.com/a/EfaQWLc

An interesting thing i noticed was that i can't change resolution in windows. The drop down menu is greyed out. After some googling it seems like it could be drivers or windows update shenanigans. Time to reinstall stuff i guess....
Spoiler for \"specs\":
Processor AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 12-Core Processor 3.80 GHz
16,0 GB ram
windows 10 64-bit
radeon 5700 xt
2 1tb hard drives

Ok so my problem was fixed (I think) by reinstalling my graphics drivers. I still don't know what caused it.

i still can't find the regedit file as specified in the OP link

Hello. I'm brand new, to both this game and PC gaming in general, so I hope you'll forgive me for my lack of knowledge.
I'm having this crash issue as well, and when I try to create a new resolution in my graphics options, it says it's unsupported. What's bizarre is that this game worked just fine the other day. I tweaked a couple of settings to try to optimize for Escape From Tarkov, and since then, PR won't launch, giving me this error. I reset my Nvidia settings to defaults, and it still doesn't work. I'd sure appreciate some help! Thanks.
