Crash to Desktop

Post by Conradius »

This is a new install of PR on a new computer. Was fine for a couple weeks then started to 'crash'.

Crashing to to Desktop and Cleaning up.

I've downloaded Procdump but dont know where to find dump file or if it is even running...

-Show prlauncher.log after a crash
-Run procdump through cmd so you can see if it attaches properly and get the exit message

Log is in mods/pr/bin/ folder.
Ask on discord for help with procdump.

Does it instantly close? Or does it take like 10 seconds?

Instant, right from game play to "cleaning up" notification.

Log is only this:

Code: Select all

Project Reality Log File
PRLauncher.exe started at: 2020-08-11T16:26:51

Warning: mumble error: 12

Thanks, forgot the "cd" to change directory.

Here is what Procdump gave me. Is this what I should get or is there more to it?

That means procdump is attached and waiting for a crash.
Play coop on servers, they're slightly more stable.

ProcDump doesn't create a dump file. It just closes with PR.

I Start PR and then Procdump. I get the following at the CMD Prompt:

ProcDump v9.0 - Sysinternals process dump utility
Copyright (C) 2009-2017 Mark Russinovich and Andrew Richards
Sysinternals - http://www.sysinternals.com

Process: PRBF2.exe (1440 8)
Process image: C:\Program Files (x86)\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\PRBF2.exe
CPU threshold: n/a
Performance counter: n/a
Commit threshold: n/a
Threshold seconds: n/a
Hung window check: Disabled
Log debug strings: Disabled
Exception monitor: First Chance+Unhandled+Breakpoints
Exception filter: [Includes]
*
[Excludes]
Terminate monitor: Disabled
Cloning type: Disabled
Concurrent limit: n/a
Avoid outage: n/a
Number of dumps: 1
Dump folder: C:\Users\cw_pe\Downloads\Procdump\
Dump filename/mask: PROCESSNAME_YYMMDD_HHMMSS
Queue to WER: Disabled
Kill after dump: Disabled

Press Ctrl-C to end monitoring without terminating the process.

Then when PR crashes/closes the procdump closes with it. No evidence of a dump file anywhere.

That's not the full output, but forget that, just check:
Dump folder: C:\Users\cw_pe\Downloads\Procdump\
You should come to Discord and ask for help there instead of waiting a day for replies here
