Multi-tiered voting should be the norm in PR.

1st vote: urban, desert, vegitation
2nd vote: INS, AAS, CNC, GG
3rd vote: 4 maps
4th vote: best 2 maps of the 4

But that is just wishful thinking and would actually negate the need for limited release of maps.

I have seen a few votes that are in two sets, though the servers would never implement something like that as a standard.

The reason you don't see 4 maps in a vote is because its limited to 3 and putting more maps in the vote will just split the vote even more anyways. Even if it doesn't, people will pick maps they are more familiar with anyways because, again as someone previously stated, they are more likely going to enjoy it with their limited time.

and honestly urban, desert, vegetation votes are pointless in my eyes. a better vote may be 4km+ 2km-.

And even in that case even the inf whores pick 4km maps then complain about why admins don't set Inf layout to piss off asset whores... NO ONE wants to play a 4km map as inf only. It's boring, just look at Kassel for example, everyone was complaining about the map being too large for inf when it came out.

This is why just limiting the maps we can pick from for a time would be the easiest solution and then just doing the regular map vote. I could come up with a good set of 15 maps to vote from.

In fact, I would volunteer to be the person creating the map sets, that way if anyone wants to get mad, I would gladly accept the hate and vitriol if it meant I could more thoroughly enjoy the game and the intricacies of what each map has to offer. I am not an asset whore, just a pure infantry SL. I love playing large maps and working alongside assets as well. I also enjoy INS just as much as AAS. So I am very much unbiased.

I will volunteer to the task.

I said it once, I will say it again. Forcing this with updated is no go, specially because this is "server issue". If you guys want to try out this 20-25 map rotation system, you have 3 english servers (HOG, U777 and Base). Ask there administration if they want to help try this out. Maybe, if it works, some set of guidelines for map selection could be included in server license agreement, making it PR standard.

The whole point of this idea is that the servers have whatever is their agenda, which generally seems to be a basic map selection.

The PR agenda should include promoting new maps, in some way, that are well done and show potential to grow the experience of playing PR.

After AAS/INS/CNC vote

The vote should be split into:
Historical | Modern maps

That way you can see if the players want to play more unique settings like omaha, Bijar Canyons, goose, or something more balanced like yamalia, wanda shan or Tad Sae, etc...

Any multiple layer map voting at all would be better.
