Please change it so you can have mortar in two different positions.
It will give the mortar role a lot more dynamic and depth. Counter battery etc will be more difficult.

Re: 2 different mortar locations
I swear we discussed this already and decided to implement it. Guess no one did it so far ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Re: 2 different mortar locations
This is how I do it. The logi, the crates and the FOB get their own locations. I make sure only one thing gets destroyed per mortar. FOB and crate are required to be 50 meters apart. You can vehicle push crate further away later or even push the FOB crate 150 meters to place another FOB 200 meters away.UncleSmek wrote:Please change it so you can have mortar in two different positions.

The mortars go 100-200 meters from the FOB to the rear so counter battery only affects mortars. Each mortar goes 50 meters apart, because the spread of incoming mortar counter battery is 50 meter radius.
So using this same logic. Mortars 200 meters north of FOB, TOW/HMG/AA/foxhole line 200 meters south of FOB. They can only mortar one thing at a time. 1 emplacement, asset or infantryman hit per mortar spread, 50 meters.
Under counter battery procedure is break down the mortars, call chopper, go to a different or make new FOB. Commander UAV can follow vehicles if used right, so you can't go straight anywhere.
Always think outside the box, or to the maximum parameter values we are given within the box. Examples being last flag DOD edge FOB, maxing out vehicles/weapons ammo output toward enemy or using maxed out distance allowed for spread.
What I would really love is a CRAM system that can cover 1 kilometer to mitigate mortar damage. For the objective FOB which mortars can be attached to. Mortars should use any FOB as a potential setup position, but it has to have its own sector to sit in away from other emplacements. Give another thing to mortar.
