Mouse can move, but does not allow me to interact with menu

Hi all, thanks for taking the time to read about my issue

I've installed the game, and when I get to the main menu (in fullscreen) I can move my mouse just fine, but I can't click on any of the buttons to on the left. I've checked to see if they are maybe misaligned (like what can happen sometimes in windowed mode), but I can't interact with the buttons at all.

THINGS I HAVE TRIED:
- Reinstalling the game
- Restarting my computer
- Deleting the ProjectReality folder in documents (I read this can solve mouse-related issues)
- Checking to make sure the resolution is correct (1920x1080)
- Updating mouse software & drivers

Does anyone have a potential fix? Or any tips that could put me on the right track?

could you have anything running that might prevent sending inputs to a process running with elevated permissions?
