Logarithmic depth buffer
This change is rather technical, but solves an issue that has been plaguing PR for a long time: Z-fighting. Z-fighting occurs when two objects are so close together, that the engine does not know which one to draw in front of the other. The result is visible flickering between the two objects. This can even get so bad, that you can see players hiding inside a building through the walls. With a logarithmic depth buffer this problem gets reduced massively and z-fighting will be barely noticeable in game.
Mi-8 AMTSh and Ka-29T CAS variants
Just like the UH-1 Huey or Sokol, the Mi-8 and Ka-29T both can now be fielded in a air support role. The choppers will come equipped with S-8 unguided rockets and UPK-23 23mm gun pods.
The variants include:
Mi-8 AMTSh
- 6x S-8KOM
- 4x S-8KOM + 2x UPK-23
- 2x UPK-23
- 4x S-8KOM + GShG-7.62
- 2x S-8KOM + GShG-7.62
- 2x S-8KOM + 2x UPK-23 + GShG-7.62
- 2x UPK-23 + GShG-7.62
The system is set up to be modular and adaptable to adjust for balance on individual maps or new weapons getting created.
Seasonal maps
As it is becoming tradition, we are releasing two seasonal winter maps for the next couple of months. This year will bring back Icebound (4km) with some quality of life improvements and additionally adds one new map: Quan (2km).
