Yo I wish I'd had this as a teen! The only reason it took me so long to find PR is that I wasn't into gaming, and the only reason I wasn't into gaming is that I didn't know about PR yet.

Well said, Morrislee! To think about all the 'paid' games out there, and how fantastic PR is for free, there's nothing but praise to toss at the Devs!

PvE and TvE are very enjoyable game modes when you got a good crew. Honestly, if you are curious why someone like me would play and run a COOP community with friends, it's because I used to play nothing but PvP or TvT games like PR Deployment or any of the other popular shooters since 2000, and after so many years it started boiling my blood.

Game time shouldn't be a stressful time, and while I enjoyed the fierce competition for years, it weighed on after awhile and something needed to change. Luckily, I didn't need to go offline and SP all the way, thanks to PR COOP plus more and more other team based cooperative games or games with those modes, and so team vs. bots was right up my alley! As it turns out, I'm not alone and there's plenty of folks who just wanna hang out with friends and frag bots.

The problem that becomes noticeable to people like me with too many thousands of hours in PvP is that the general player is a challenge, but exploiters/cheaters/hackers add another layer to that where a game is only truly competitive when none of those players are present (if you are lucky, too). A bot will never use "that one trick" to let them shoot through a seam in an otherwise solid building, or other such nonsense - not that they don't have their own botly tricks, difference being that they can be coded out. You can't code out the *** from asshats.

The AI may not be super challenging in PR, but in Arma 2 and now Arma 3, they are killer smart and not just 'hip shot you in the head while running' good but actually smoke you out, surround and suppress you, hunt you and move in for the kill 'smart'.

And don't get me started on COOP flight and combat flight sim'ing - just an amazing way to spend a day.

Just my 2 cents from someone who's been doing the COOP thing for a dozen years now.

That's awesome! It’s great when a game or mod can be such a big part of your gaming journey. I’ve had similar experiences with games that I’ve stuck with for years, like CS2. The community and the gameplay just keep you coming back.
