FPV Drone modeling for new game mode, CAD/3D Modeling Volunteer Initiative

Post by Grump/Gump.45 »

Project Reality was really the first of its kind of simulation, so it should be the first to have an FPV versus infantry game mode. This is going to be a nightmare.

The FPV drones need to be miniaturized helicopter style controlled FPV drone vehicle models, with their own faster manuever physics of course. Set speed to what it is in real life for each type.

I suggest running it from a bunch of commander tents in main with multiple seats for a FPV drone spawn spot, re-arm on helpads. The drone team is not allowed to leave main base. This is about surviving drone attacks while moving from flag to flag, FPV drones should be able to cap.

Types of FPV drones to date, using both quad(4), hexacopter(6) and octocopter(8). Different sizes for mounting different weapon platforms, each has their own physics.

-Surveilance
-Rifle
-RPG launcher
-Kamikazi
-Shotgun drone with 2 barrels
-Explosive Dropper
-Thermite dragon (use ingame napalm)
-Machine gun thermal
-Automatic grenade launcher thermal

Set up same as limited kits, but they are vehicles with tickets, still have flags to defend to concentrate the combat.

3 flags, the close you get to the flag close to drone main the faster the attacks come in. The tactical potential of drone distracting for another drone. Its mind games

We have the assets needed, throw a CROWS M240 upside down on the Quadcopter drone

This will be very entertaining and interesting for both sides. If progress is made towards each type of model, then mounting the weapons, it could have an early infancy stage game mode.

Infantry on the ground get unlimited breacher kits with shotguns and every other kit limited still the base game has to take out 500 attacking drones from 50 players. 4 machine guns, 4 Automatic rifleman. Same deal, just everyone can have a shotgun if they choose breacher. Breacher kit is the new rifleman.

This experience will cause you to grow neurogenetically, your offspring will potentially have neurologically programmed survival reactions to what you do here. Also this will help improve real life drone survival.

The most dishonorable, brutally scary way to kill, unlimited FPV drones, the extermination potential is war crime potential. The drone team doesn't ever die, they just lose a bunch of flying controlled FPVs as tickets.

Use camouflage, police up each others exposure, no man seen sticking out. Scan aggressively with eyes and ears for anything suspect, even for birds disturbed to fly out of trees

FPV is not suitable for PR game time. In the PR world view timeline, FPV was not common at that time. FPV only appeared in large areas in recent years. For the current PR game, it is not suitable for PR.

There is also issue of game engine not supporting remote controlled drone. These are things I've only read rumors about so don't quote me on this but if drone is implemented as an aircraft, drone pilot dies along with drone, or even worse, can jump out of the drone behind enemy lines. And control mechanism of the TV guided missile doesn't support hovering.

This is about opening a new era, at one point in time Project Reality didn't have Vietnam or WW2. Obstacles to this objective to work through aside, why should it not have FPV drone game mode?

So to say PR has a fixed timeline, when its going for modern warfare realism. That would be timeline of World War 1 to today.

The players of the mod become developers, that is where they come from to make models, maps and factions.

At both ends of Modern Warfare, early and current year, we are only missing World War 1 at one end and FPV drones at the other end.

One would be easier to make for Project Reality than the other, World War 1 we already have the weapon assets for bolt actions and German uniforms. Just need Brodie helmets, uniform and webbing for British with their Enfields.

FPV is a whole different game with never before seen or attempted assets.

Project Reality has grown from modern, to insurgent, then Vietnam/Cold War, World War 2.

Project Reality has opened up new War eras, conflict zones with new factions and upgraded weapons to their modern features in the past, like the old Dutch C7 rifle models into the new modern looking ones.

I feel World War 1 to current years technology fits the games vision of modern combat simulating how it would go man to man or man against machine with the given weapons of the modern era.

Realism is history, Project Reality has opened up more War eras and conflict zones within cold war, WW2, Modern insurgency and modern faction eras.

The "modern era" in Project Reality is 20 years ago as of 2005-2015, this is the future. The only new vehicle missing are these FPV drones, then we can say its completely modern.

Sometimes an update brings something entirely new to the game, like a new war era.

Should innovate for Project Reality 2.0 update which I estimate would happen in about 3-5 years, it goes up .1 in update every 2-3 years.

I will give some examples before diving into the difficulties or obstacles to getting FPV drones in game you brought up.
-------------------------------Example----------------------------------------------------
Opening a new era in Project Reality with the base game thats given, for example, is as simple as modelling the Brodie helmet for WW1, throwing together the WW1 webbing, uniform color and kit for a British World War 1 Era faction. Then just have it be British vs German WW1.

Making a WW1 Era is simpler than FPV drones era, but both would add another reason for people to play, something new.

Then some no mans land ruins and trenches on a map, different skies/times of day. Then we have World War 1. We already have the bolt action weapons for that, plus the Russian Soviet HMG models.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But FPV drones is a whole new game mode that would require something we have never seen before, from the ground up we don't have any aspect of FPV.

The example above of making WW1 is much simpler, technology assets we already have in Project Reality, Enfield and Kar 98K weapons.

Once we have a model for a basic FPV, should see where it could be placed and controlled from. Just got to work it from the ground up.

But this is talking about a complex new vehicle and game mode, I expect difficulties or concerns about its possibility, opening up a new era for the modern warfare.

Filling in both ends, the beginning of the modern era in World War 1, then the evolution to modern day drones exactly 100 years later, 1915 to 2015 era. More players will come.

In the concept of using a UAV tent with multple seats, the UAV has an actual model not used anymore, like 99% sure that was a thing.

I remember seeing a hacker spam models of UAV drone onto the carrier. Where the UAV could get destroyed but the commander using it didn't die, 50% unsure of that part. Correct me if you know or remember please?

So say if the FPV models were attached to the drone control tent, like a pilot station with multiple seats a drone will spawn in, camera view on, take off, find targets.

Even if players had to run up to an individual drone and "get inside the mini FPV" drone. Only issue is the tickets, where the player dies when they get a kill because they are inside the drone.

If somebody could look into its control potential further, nice to see we are pointing out the issues. Lays out what would need to be worked around.

It would be acceptable to me if the pilot jumped out and died, but that would be pointless for the operators.

What about the helicopter control concept? Minus the heavy flying object hard to control crash momentum physics. FPV drones are lighter, so lighter sensitivity and momentum values.
