HMG Tips: The few times I've had the opportunity to use them, I've always been accompanied by an observer with a GTLD, preferably the observer being the squad leader himself, to mark and tell the gunner where to fire.So maybe they can compensate for the lack of optical sights on HMGs, and as Grump says, the objective of HMGs at long ranges is to suppress and damage the occasional light vehicle.Grump/Gump.45 wrote: 2025-04-01 04:48
But players want to play the same linear way everytime, you don't have to take the flags to win, just eat the enemy with 6 super FOBs. Problem is these players see an HMG that is 1000+ meters away from ernemy and think its useless iron sights for accurate targets, its primarily for area target sweeps, making a psychological bullet storm.
What happened to all the fun people who use to play this game?

I use the HMG like a long range claymore.. Area denial. Bullet storm they see and don't want to come into, so they hide, lay down. HMG can reach 1500+ meters through view distance. Bullet effectiveness goes from a scale of 0-10, Fear(1) to Kill (10). Either you put fear in enemy or you hit and kill them
If you hit near enemy or make bullet fly past enemy, that is bullet effectiveness 1/10, goes up the closer you get to hitting them, then what they do like run away or lay down stuck under it, dodge, scared, high heart rate, make panic and mistakes, other factors go into rating effectiveness.
HMGs are anti-infantry anything, any light vehicle.

1 Man per piece of cover, Move cover to cover. In view of each other to save each other by shooting, distraction, division of enemy attention and ammo. 1 man hit per RPG/tank shell/mortar spread formation full time. Edge of cap zone. Use camouflage, police up each others exposure, no man seen sticking out. Scan aggressively with eyes and ears for anything suspect, even for birds disturbed to fly out of trees
