[Map] Castle Assault [scrapped]

i was playing the map where the buildings are destoryable, and we had 1 person with a rocket launcher and 4 people storming straight through when the wall was destroyed. This alone was just such a rush and was so damn awesome.

Anyways, today i just was imagining a map, in the desert, a castle in the dead centre of the desert which is completly destoryable, 2 walls around the main building. And just 1 flag in the dead centre which they need to defend.

Imagine adding c4 and blowing a whole in the wall and storming, or even shooting someone in hope they dont make it to the wall before you hit them.

Would rock so much.

I think this is a very interesting idea. But possiblly instead of having to create new destructuable models, just use existing buildings. Like use 2 of the tall buildings with archways in them at the North and South for entrances, and also for snipers etc. to lay in wait. Then on the inside either have a small building or a courtyard, mabye with the fountian and a flag in it. Then surround the whole compound with the destructable buildings, so that they can be used to snipe from too but they will also be destroyed when the tanks come rolling through. I really like the destructable buildings, and I am sad that they are not in more maps.

Hm yea, your idea for using already made stuff is a pretty good idea. Only problem is i dont have a first clue how to make maps. Hopefully someone who does will read this stuff ^_^ As its a pretty simple map.

im going to make a quick 256x2 map real quick on this idea to see how long it takes me from start to finnish :p

wont become a offical pr map (unless egg and the players really want it too) but can put it up for a custom map download if you guys want.

Not telling you how to do your job or anything, but maybe 2 assault jeeps? :D

Come on rhino, if it's cool why not being official?
If it's well made and fun...
Just make sure you find a name other than just "castle assault" :P
Maybe placing it like if it was one of those constructions near the Great Wall?

lol I didnt mean for it to be called "Castle Assault" was just off the top of my head and gave the basic idea of what it would be like :P

Wow that terrain looks really nice. Shame when i play it i have lowest specs because my pc is pure crappy. Only 2 months to go for my new godly pc :D

was trying to drive it along those (destructible) walkways when it felldown and got stuck lol.

Fortresses are really fun. I think rhino you shold make it 512 though.

Put it this way, helmand province took me 10 days so im sure you can come up with seomthing lol.

This is turning out to look pretty cool, I bet it is going to turn into a rocket fest though. Mabye that's what you should call it.

It is 2 days after Octoberfest, and the local militas are still feeling the effects of their daily bingeing on alcohol and bratworst. The USMC has been ordered to come in an clean up the mess. The Marines on the ground have approprately dubbed this mission "Operation Rocketfest".......... ok so mabye the lack of sleep is getting to me.
