We are now limiting 2 snipers per side. If you try and be a third sniper, you will be auto kicked.

If other severs want to use this script, I used the "landot sniper limit" and it seems to work fine with BF2 1.02...

That's nice and all but I feel I have to just post my opinion.

I think it is pretty dumb to start restricting weapons and kits. If people are whining about there being to many snipers they should stop whining and look for a way to take them down.

Allowing there to be only a certain amount of snipers is actually promoting people to not work as a team in my point of view, because it stops people from having to work as a team to take the sniper down.

There are many things in the mod that allows a squad to take down a sniper. Use smoke, medic for anyone getting damaged, resupply for more smoke, grenades.

I don't see why so many people are complaing about there being too many snipers.

Well that's just my point of view.

Cool to see scripts like this though. It adds more possiblities to add things to the game.

Yea, I know what you mean mate. However I have seen nearly a full side of snipers and thats just silly LOL

Come and try it out mate, I feel that having a max of 2 sniper per side makes it quite well balanced and fun.

I have also seen some scripts about to allow side switching at the end of a round. This is built into the BF2CC Daemon, however I am having some issues getting the daemon to work with the this or any mod :cry:

I think my fav additions so far would be the Shotgun changes and bleeding out (makes medic much more important and i feel forces teamwork :D ).

Its a good idea, but you wouldn't even notice it if vanilla bf2 started this way. People are just NOW using snipers because you know your actually going to get a kill. I absolutley love the kit now. Btw, nice server...n2m lag

Yeah it is crazy to have a full side of snipers, but think if every one of them has a sniper kit that's a huge advantage to the other team. I'd say if there was one full squad, 3 assault, 2 medics, and 1 resupply, they could wipe the floor with them. Once you get into close quarters with a sniper, if you have a rifle their chances of living aren't very high.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't your server a 32 man server? If so limiting to two per side if way to low if you insist on doing this.

Nice server. lag free. Sniper restriction = bad idea. I joined and thought id try out sniper and got kicked 3 times with no idea why this was happening. I was blaming your server and allmost went elsewhere until i went another class (not knowing about the rule and was problem free)
Like said above people are going nuts because snipers now work - it will cool down. im allready back to my useual kits.
Until there is a real structure to the teams i would not restrict any kit.
Snipers have no armor and only carry a pistol for close combat so are easily taken down if you arnt stupid and walk out in the open. If you act like a soldier would then snipers wont bother you much in the game.

Just my opinion.

personally I found snipers hard to use because they zoom in so much. Yeah you get a one hit kill but you still cant hit a moving target. I think the reason they become effective is because people right click before shooting, which slows you down a lot. Players should zig zag and shoot without sighting and they should be able to kill the snipers just fine. Remember all you have to do is shoot these guys a couple, if even that, times with any wepaon to kill them, so I dont see what the big deal is.

Sorry, its hard to make this stand out, but it is in the server description in the loading screen...

DI are now recruiting (18+ age requirement).
Also looking at a better auto balance mod. So it should leave Commanders, Squad Leaders and Squad Members alone when balancing the teams :!:

can u put a message about the sniper restriction?, cause the amount of players dropped dramatically from about 40 to about 10 people. now no ones playing on the server anymore cause they dont know why they are getting kicked. thanks and great server!

As there are peeps still on my server at 3am GMT! I will have to update the scripts I wanted to try sometime tommorow.

I am also going to look into the sniper limit script and see if it can be changed to not kick peeps and just remove there weapon or something like that.

After several attempts with the sniper limit script in a private testing session on the server. I have been unable to fix it to suicide or replace the players kit without resorting to a kick.

I have decided for now to remove the sniper limit script until further investigation and tests can be done.

If anyone who is good with Python can assist please let me know as I would like to get this working on the server.

Please don't abuse this and have a silly number of snipers on one side please.
