Civvie Trickery

Post by knewman »

This short story retells the first time I fell for a civilian/insurgent trick. I was GB and my squad was heading into the city from the oil field after we had taken out an arms cache. As we entered the edge of the city two civvies were standing by this bridge throwing rocks at us. So we gave chase across the bridge, the squad leader was one step away from grabbing the civilian when I noticed an IED right off the side of the bridge and just as I shout bomb into the radio the insurgents blow the thing, taking out my entire squad. Needless to say I was impressed and never again shall I question the implementation of civilians into PR. Bravo dev people!

I just love when civis work together with an insurgent, last time I played Basrah, we had another civi in the squad, there was a Brit chasing him, I told him to hide somewhere, then the squad leader comes and catches the 1337 SF with only a knife in his hands :p

Gotta love Civvies.
They are perfect for baiting, was working with one as a sniper. Civie would run out baiting brits, than run into my line of sight followed by 2-3 brits with knives ^_^

Doesn't work on anyone but n--bs.
You don't need to engage a single insurge, just run search patterns on the buildings on the map.
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

The best thing is to lay a mine and have a civvie lie on it, when people try to run over the civvie to capture him they run over the mine, fairly effective.

My personal favorite was when I was a civvie and ran in front of a Warrior holding down the bridge near the old SVCP. The Driver/gunner was dumb enough to get out to get me and the sniper covering me plinked him. The Warrior went down shortly there after.

Ya you gotta love the civils. but theres always that problem of they guy that doesnt giv a **** and kills them. think bout it. if your computer is fast enough then they kill a but load of civils and when they die they just disconnect and then rejoin. probably only take them half the time it would take 4 them 2 respawn. Theres also something iv wanted to try when being civil.... RIOOT!!! co-ordinate a riot with 2 squads and have SLs hide 4 spawn. if they kept 2gether then roaming brits will go down in a sec.

God i hate those ********, I mean no friggin civie whoud go right next to somone they know is gonna get shot on sight.
Why not try playing with your team! There is no reason to shoot a civi on purpose. Mistakes happen.. but telling your squad to shoot civis if you get shot at, is just against the game dynamics and hinders your own team.

In this GAME civis do "go right next to somone they know is gonna get shot on sight", so play the game, not your version of it and help your team.

I seem to be good at attracting bullets when I play as a Civ.

But I remember this time when there was a warrior coming towards the NVCP on Al Basrah (Insurgents had capped it), and I ran out to distract it. The guy inside was so afraid to accidentally kill me, that he kept backing up away from the base while I ran at him, throwing stones. I finally got him to get out of the Warrior, have him shoot me, and a friendly in the base took him and the Warrior out with an RPG.

can't you capture a civvie by running them over?

That's not a capture. It's just a kill that doesn't give you a penalty.

Well played as insurgents on Desert Storm map and the civvies were just used as a meat shield at the wooden gate, tickets were raging up like mad.

Civilian sandbags ftw. Get one to crouch or prone between you and the enemy, and use them as cover.
