A story I want to share with the community.

Jabal Al Burj. 1940 GMT +8

Came in the server to find that all Blackhawks were occupied so I found a nice squad called Air Assault to join. Decided to go onto VOIP and ask if he needs a crew chief and gunner. So yep I hopped onto the SL's Blackhawk as gunner and crew chief.

We did several drops and got hit by APC's (some resulting in deaths) but one particular one really hit right. We actually got another gunner in our squad with another engineer inside. THats 4 crew in a squad to man a blackhawk. The rest we actually hauled up on passengers. I believe we were heading to the Bridge flying (now I realize) dangerously low and close to the ridge when I heard the whizzing of bullets and smack I heard the cry of our pilot getting hit and falling dead at the controls.

Before we knew it the Blackhawk was spinning wildly but we were maintaning a level flight albeit dropping rather dangerously in a bad example of autorotating. It spun so fast that I ddint know what to do. The VOIP was screaming in my ears " Wtf's going on? Shit we're going down! HIT HIT HIT! Vodnik 3 o clock! Oh **** oh ****!" and I saw a desparate passenger jump out and finally the whirring loud in my ears we hit with a herat rending squeel of tortured metal with mangled bodies tossed out onto the coast and sea like poor rag dolls.

A moment of silence in the radio as static filled my ears and I looked over the very depressing wreckage.

"Well that was fun!"

We've got a blackhawk down, we've got a blackhawk down.

I love moments like these in PR.

bah, never happened to me, always went insta-match stick in the sky, when shot down :(

Well, did happen on Basrah Devfile several times on 0.5, was epic having the rotorblades fooked and spinning above Facility, then crashing into South VCP

My first crash-land was on Basrah :D

The little bird I was sitting on in Al Kufrah got damaged and start floating down (You should have heard the TS channel), and I almost made it (I hit the ground jumping but the explosion got me! )

Well the BH was intact but the Pilot got killed from a vodnik burst I think. None of us were pilots (lesson learnt. Crew's should be pilots) So we were condemned a spinning death

Good practice for pilots: Gulf of Oman, try and knock your tail into the aircraft carrier + see how long you can keep her in the air. Try for thirty seconds, personal best :)

Accidentally jumping out while flying the LB then finding that it survived the crash and landed right next to you. Best one I've had yet.

Semi-unrelated, but the start of a good round on the US team is one of the coolest experiences I have had in a game, ever. The almighty roar of three BHs powering up, then taking off, sometimes with two of them shooting towards the same direction, low over the water with the sunlight in the distance...beautiful.

haha i was playing Qwai River and had the LB attack choper , that day i had abit of conection problem but still i took out a few enemies until a APC started shooting at me and he got me smoking hard and all the sudden the controlers locked up and yes,i was going down. haha at the same time i got the message "there is a problem with your connection" so everythings freezed up and a few seconds later i found myself landed  and the LB smoking black so i jumped out as fast as i could and just as i was wondering WTF had happened there the choper blew up right in front of me, but yet it didnt kill me hahaha just got me to bleed and since there arent that many MEDICS around these days, i died from bleeding. :gloomy:

Funny story about piloting LB's. Loaded up with a full LB (and most were guys from my old clan, the 3-5 all on teamspeak. Just as I lift off and get to altitude on Muttrah I see "Kicking LeadMagnet for a supporting member" and simultaneously over teamspeak "OH SHIT!" by 3 guys at once when they realized their pilot just got the boot. TG FTL that night.
