Sir yes Sir!

Post by PhiR »

I was playing EJOD on Thor's yesterday night with a well-known member of the community as my squad leader (whom is not named for reasons you will understand after reading the rest of this post). A big part of our squad was in a vodnik but we weren't driving. We kindly asked the driver to drop us at the city since we wanted to preempt Ruins (beginning of the round). But he wouldn't move from north desert. We asked again, more urgently. My SL then got frustrated and said "someone should shoot the driver".

Ever the teamplayer, I got out of the vodnik and took my sidearm out (the H-AT sounded a bit heavy-handed for the job). I killed the driver with a single bullet to the head, and we were on our way :)

Before you start flaming me, I should mention that I later apologized to the driver over VOIP and that it was all in good fun. And because there is some justice in this world, my SL crushed me with the vodnik a bit later, a few moments before driving over a friendly mine and killing most of our squad.

...sounds like a usual day in PR? Sadly.

Sounds like the usual THE OBJECTIVE MUST BE COMPLETED attitude I get in my favorite voip squads.... honestly you must pay attention to the chat!

... no offense to TB but a lot of people have varying languages that play there so text communication is harder on that server!

MWAHAHAHAHAHA - So you guys just killed the one guy keeping one asset safe - to get yourself run over, then drive over a mine - killing and loosing 6 tickets. Yepp - that sounds like a sound tactic that we all should follow. LOL. ;)

I've had quite a few folks put a bullit in my head when I'm inside the drivers seat in for example a spawncar, keeping it just far enough out of the reach of brits - then some smartass thinks I am a smartass - puts one round in my head and drive it of. Right in harms way.

Way to go. :D (giggle)

I gave order to kill the driver only once (and we didn't even succeeded) and if you ever read my quite-a-lot-angry post about a game on Kashan in Your worst experiences or whatever the name was, then you would understand why.

I understand the reason of the order - EJOD is pretty much of rush at the start of the round (it's nearly critical to get H-AT in city ASAP).

I’ve done similar stuff as squad leader on maps like Ejod, where ...sorry to say it, but noobs simply took the vehicles, drove them all to first flag-zone and --- waited (capped)...all while the opposing team deployed rapidly into the city and the surrounding hills...so yes i killed a driver and was lucky enough to rush through the enemy forward formations and then deploying with a full squad in their rear at their second flag...which we hold long enough to get the full attention from 2+ enemy squads, with one of them coming back from those rapidly controlled positions too.

I know that the capping logic says go for the flags in the designated order, but when opposing teams deploy rapidly from start onto your teams second or third flag on Ejod (Gas station, Ruins, Gardens, North Dessert) or the surrounding areas to any of these flag-zones, its all about counter that from start.

Its amazing to see that there are still so many teams out there …on example Ejod, where the entire team will move all infantry and vehicles to the first flag only, en mass!
And then after having capped the first flag together and viewing that the enemy haven’t capped their first flag yet, this huge bulk of infantry and vehicles slowly begin to roll out for the next flag, without any use of smoke, any use of security elements or point/recon elements and only to find them self’s trapped in a rapid deployed kill zone by more than half the enemy team.

And before you know it 2/3 of this slowly massing team is annihilated and the enemy cap their first flag when most from the slow team respawns back at main and prepare to walk.

So yeah, when having experienced stuff like that many many times, some players will make a TK on a driver holding a Vodnik/Hummer on capping position at the first flag.

And agreed, it is not very positive that they do it (TK), but it is what it is, cause most of the experienced players - play to win. And not only win the round but also the initial phase of a round.

At least they don’t TK a driver just to get the vehicle for the driving it self, as its kind of normal with the jets. These TKérs tries to stop or at least down the upcoming enemy massacre.

...

If your new 2 the game consider to join the tournament. Most of the basic stuff can be experienced there, including the necessarity of trying out from start to bring the fight to the enemy before the enemy brings the fight 2 you.

Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.
