Real?
I found myself on a server with 4 full 6 member squads.
So I had 60 seconds to join my own squad, as it said in the login.
Then I tried to go to the front... ended up with a full squad of irritated members who wanted direction, while I was running around in the base trying to figure out...
1. Where my offficers kit was.
2. How long time b4 I could drive with my crewman kit ("cannot give you a crewman kit so soon after you had an officers kit bla bla")
3. Why all my squadmebers got tired and decided to form their own 4 squads.
Finally I drove to the front, and got killed. Tried to find a spawnpoint, but when spawning, switched bak to default again. WITHOUT any "officers kit"... But my drivers license was alrigt so "heck with that officers kit" sand drove away. Now I suddenly had 2 more guys in the squad, and I tried to make a rally point. "Not without a officers kit"...
Next spawn I got the blessing of finding the unmarkt area where that OFFICERS KIT happen to be, real quick, and suddenly there was no cars...
All my squad members where irritaded, wanting directions.
I got a car from the commander... The car was dingeling along like a little dot way up in the blue... Waiting and waiting... Finally I could drive to the front... Tried the rallu point.... "NOT ENUFF MEMERS IN YOUR SQUAD"...
After this experience, the game was over...
I headed back to Battlefield 2 for some REAL action...
Suggestions...
1. Give the squadleader his KIT automatically.
2. Stop the nonsense of CREWMAN kits.
3. Expect a squadleader to be a squadleader all the game. Why run around getting officers kit in the base everytime you die? Unless you can MARK UP places where those kits suppose to be (yes I ghave read the manual).
4. Agree on medic kits someone else wrote about. Fells a bit gayish to have people kneeling around you all the time. (I have nothing against gays, but im not one of them).
5. More information about what kits are gone to whom and what squad.
I need a sniper in my squad? No way... An AT-guy? Sorry...
Better that a squad can have a certain amount of weapon types than the whole team.
Otherwise I think youre on the right way. I will play mostly BF2 regular until then.
Oh, and a good voting out the cheaters would be great also, nothing is more unreal than a cheater. I saw a couple on the 5 servers I was testing yesterday and the day before. Gettin spotted by the same guy alll the time, in the heavy bush, is not feelin real. Some other guy ended up with KDR's like 105 - 2. You need about 10 votes for such a guy to be kicked. Seldom there are 10 boneheads on one server at the same time who would misuse such a voting mechanism. Or let the squadleaders plus commander have the vote - on the cheaters team. That would make the game more interestin, as the victims will cry loud until the hacker is gone.

suggest you read this, http://guide.realitymod.com/
well awanser alot of your questions. your problem is that without reading the guide, you didn't know what to do and there for had a bad time. Servers have diffrent rules, I take it you went on TG for there script to make you join squads, IMO its not the best way to get ppl to play as a team to force them into a squad, but its there server.
as for your suggestions.
1. if it was easily possible we would have done it, thou we may have found a way to make it easier for SLs to get there officer kit.
2. Crewman kits are so snipers dont hop into a tank and drive it off, very unrealistic and also bad for game play. If you want to drive a tank, you should stay in the tank.
3. read the munaual some more, you can get the kit from 90% of spawn points, only spawn you cant get them from is the commander truck.
4. simulates the medic acturly doing some work.
5. it is squad based also.
cheaters are a problem in all games, its mainly upto punk buster to get them and server admins to ban them.

i somehow agree with giving the sl a kit automatically but the thing that caught my attention is squad members who take kits that serve no useful purpose in the squad. i hate snipers in the team. this isnt real life in ramadi where you can pick off enemy muj with immunity. 1 shot and the enemy know exactly where you are and in most cases will fire back and kill you. and also they never gather round for a RP, they are always by themselves at the cliffs thinking they are carlos hathcock or something

I really do hate those servers that force you into squads at the beginning of a round.., more often than not you end up in a totally ineffective squad that doesn't communicate at all. Ppl just join a squad because they have to not because they want to.
I cant see the point of it at all, to tell you the truth as its blatently obvious in this mod ( even to a newbie ) that you cant get anywhere or do anything truely effective when your lonewolf.
Mind u i have seen a silly trend emerging recently where ppl just join a squad grab a limited kit then leave!

My suggesion is to go back and fully read the manual over, paying special attention to the sections on Squad Leader and also on limited kit issue. You also might want to try playing as a SL alone or with smaller groups and get used to issuing orders via the CAPS LOCK key (default). Being a good SL means sometimes hanging back and not getting in the middle of a firefight, because you act as a mobile spawn point. If you are on foot, an officer's kit is good to have. Another method is as the driver of an APC, placing the Attack marker on priority targets to ease acquisition for your gunner. This technique will also provide your squad with a mobile spawn point where limited kits can be issued from just like a rally point. They can also duck inside the APC for rapid transport if objectives change.Zoors wrote:I found myself on a server with 4 full 6 member squads.

You were probably on TacticalGamers, which gives you 90 seconds to join a squad. By the time you actually load up into game, the time is around 60-75 seconds. The first thing you should do is either join or create a squad, and from there you can choose where to spawn and what kit to grab.
Then I tried to go to the front... ended up with a full squad of irritated members who wanted direction, while I was running around in the base trying to figure out...
Even if you need to stick around and grab a kit, if you are a squad leader then you need to assign an objective to your team. Move here, attack there, defend this, mine that, etc. That way they can get moving while you do your thing.
1. Where my offficers kit was.
The manual clearly states where and how to obtain limited kits. It even has pictures.
2. How long time b4 I could drive with my crewman kit ("cannot give you a crewman kit so soon after you had an officers kit bla bla")
Once you get any limited kit, there is a set time before you can get the next. This applies to all kits and all people.
3. Why all my squadmebers got tired and decided to form their own 4 squads.
A squad without orders is a squad without a leader. A squad without a leader is a squad going nowhere, and they will dump the squad to find/make a new one with an active SL that does their job. If you aren't issuing orders, you aren't doing your job.
When you die you lose your kit, regardless of what kit you were before death or what squad role you play. And if you had a crewman kit as SL, you should only be operating an APC. If you had an APC, you don't need a rally point as the APC currently has the exact same effect only mobile.
Again, you were not doing your job as a squad LEADER and issuing orders. And rarely is waiting for a commander-dropped car a good idea, as you can get to your next objective on foot faster than waiting for a car to fall. And yet again, it looks like you didn't fully read or pay attention to the manual for the section covering squad leader. If you did, you would know that you need a set number of squad members in the immediate area to set the RP.
After this experience, the game was over...
I headed back to Battlefield 2 for some REAL action...
Suggestions...
1. Give the squadleader his KIT automatically.
Some players do not use the Officer kit as a squad leader. Armor crews and air crews can be SL's, yet use their vehicle kits instead of an officer kit. And when you are in an area where RP's are not an issue, some SL's may prefer other kits such as Support or DM.
2. Stop the nonsense of CREWMAN kits.
I haven't seen any problems at all with the use or issue of crewman kits.
3. Expect a squadleader to be a squadleader all the game. Why run around getting officers kit in the base everytime you die? Unless you can MARK UP places where those kits suppose to be (yes I ghave read the manual).
If you had FULLY read the manual, you would see the kit issue points are listed with pictures and explained in detail. It's not hard to tell the differece between a bunker and a house or hangar. And it sounds like you weren't acting as a proper SL to begin with, by not issuing movement/objective orders to your squad.
4. Agree on medic kits someone else wrote about. Fells a bit gayish to have people kneeling around you all the time. (I have nothing against gays, but im not one of them).
I have no idea what you are talking about, so you might want to clarify it more as if others had never read the other posts. And what else should a medic do while healing you? Breakdance or sing Elvis songs? And if you are being healed by a medic, you shouldn't just be kneeling there. You should be covering both his and your asses.
5. More information about what kits are gone to whom and what squad.
I need a sniper in my squad? No way... An AT-guy? Sorry...
Better that a squad can have a certain amount of weapon types than the whole team.
If you want to know what kits another squad has, ask them. I see no problem with how kits are assigned now, except for the guys who join a squad to get a kit and then leave it to play Rambo.
Otherwise I think youre on the right way. I will play mostly BF2 regular until then.
Oh, and a good voting out the cheaters would be great also, nothing is more unreal than a cheater. I saw a couple on the 5 servers I was testing yesterday and the day before. If you have a problem with a cheater, bring it up to the rest of the players. If an admin is not on, get screenshots and report it to their site like everyone else. I see few cheaters and hackers in PR, not nearly as much as vBF2 which you are so eager to return to. And a 105-2 KDR is possible for aircrews and some armorcrews when they use teamwork and tactics.
Zoors
This isn't your grandma's BF2, things are different here. Not everyone will like PR, because there are still people that play like it's Counterstrike. If it's not for you, then feel free to delete the mod from your PC. If you have some patience and want to try again, feel free as well.

Very good job Rhiono for answer all those questions. And Zoors welcoem. In this release of PR alot of people want a SL that will fight with them and that stuff. By you runing around as a SL getting crewman and problly nnot in a squad name "Armor" or something most guys did not like it so they left.
#2:try Battlearena, Its a basrah server and it ha alot of great battles on it.
#3:vBF2 is just for people who cant live in the heat of PR.
Also is PR to slow paced for you?
You are the SL and you MUST LEAD, MUST SHOW STRAGNTH DURING THE GAME, and MAKE DCONNECTIONS WITH YOUR PLAYERS.All my squad members where irritaded, wanting directions.

I did read the manual.
What I want is a sign pole, saying "Kits here guys!"
Not a very hard thing to do 3D wise if you can make a pile of stuff at a rally point.
You can also label the bunker, standing 100 meters outside the mainbase with a yellow/red text "Kits here"! Or the area next to the radar on another map.
It is so frustrating to run around in the main base and have this "I wont go there for you..." message, and have mo clue where to go.
Short matches with these kind of tiome consuming things make no sense.
I normally play at MGN BF2 servers, who are tweaked for better game balance, their games start off at around 1200 tickets and can go on for hours.
Here I found myself frutrated, reading manual, getin more frustrated, reading more manual, and getting frustrated again. Then the game is over..
I know, the server owners has their ways, but I think its more okay to HAVE to join a squad, than i think its kay to run around anf guess where you guys KNOWS there are kits. Its like a joke you are the victim off.
Perhaps in REAL the wars last for at least 6 days...
And I have read the guide... I really did what MANY players didnt, otherwise I wouldnt have taken the time to come here and give you my feedback.

By reading the manual and looking at the pictures of what locations/objects will allow issue of a kit, finding those locations should be little problem. As stated above, if you can spawn there then most likely you can get a kit there. Just look around and you should see quite closeby one of the manual-listed kit allocation items. If you still have trouble learning to visually identify those locations via the pictures in the manual, I will take clear screenshots and post them here with detailed information on them.Zoors wrote:I did read the manual.

I didnt menshion that I was creating a squad as there wasnt any?
And to give directions, I need to be in the battle, understand what its all about first? Of cource I can send them out to nearest A-marked base...
Im just tired of reading, please tell me why I cannot use a taken base as a spawnpoint? We had this map with a town, and a looong way north (or south) and no spawnpoints, except for one triangle...
I read the manual and tried to remeber what places I could find those kits, but no. Sometimes on certain maps its ok, some is hard do find... It screws up the play, imho.
Okay, I could get the crewman kit, and use an APC, and arriving to combat, we get an order to get down under a ridge bridge...... How long you think is that APC standing there? Like one minute mnax, thenanother guy steals it and park it way out in a desert or something. I was really trying to get a rally point for some rounds there, but gave up, went back to BF2.
I know it can sound as an insult, the talk about gettin back to BF2 regular, but I express what I did. Not to hurt your feelings. What I did. And im still curious about this mod, as I AM a teamplayer, and LIKE the squadplay, I AM a clan player.
Some of my writings is also done because I can imagine how people not so experienced will take it, if me, who playedManic Miner on the ZX Spectrum, started wargames on Delta Force II, and been there since then - would take it. Yes, I am 51 years old, but not dumber than I am experienced.

Then recommend the server owners to make real battle times.
Until all bases are taken, and all enemies are DEAD.
Or - for at least 1500 tickets (BF2 time)
I also have an idea hhow to make a server more interesting. Make the maps in logical order. Thayt is - geographically compatible, and - if MEC wins it, next map is X, and if US wins it, next map is Y. Like a logical IF THEN ELSE statement.
That would be fun, as the team goal is to move for territory. REAL terrorism =)

Something you might want to consider as a Squad Leader, is that you hold the lives of your squad in your hands. You do NOT put them in a suicide mission (unless Insurgent maybe), so abandoning your APC would be just plain stupid. If the commander wants to issue you orders, he will see that you have an APC. If he gives you a command that does not comply with the tactical procedures or capabilities of your squad, then you can and SHOULD deny those orders. He will see your objective marker, and should understand why you won't comply with his order. If not, the commander is a gimp. But you NEVER leave an APC empty if it is your squad's transport and base of fire.Zoors wrote:I didnt menshion that I was creating a squad as there wasnt any?
If you are on a large map and your only spawn points are distant from the battle, then you should locate another method of spawning or getting there. Again, this is where APC's really come in handy. Another option is to get that lazy commander off his *** and go build a firebase out there. If that isn't working, THEN you should go set up a rally point. But remember the set rules and procedures for creating a RP. As long as you follow those rules then you should have no problems, other than the enemy finding and destroying the RP. If this happens, place another one in a less-obvious spot, or back it off from the frontlines a bit.
I would also suggest you try playing as a squad member for a while before you try squad leader. It might take a while, but eventually you will find a squad that has a good leader and you can learn from his/her tactics and procedures. I understand that under that situation you might not have been the SL by choice, but you could have just left and immediately rejoined the squad to denote yourself from the SL role. If they didn't like your method of command, let them try it.

That's not possible.Zoors wrote:I also have an idea hhow to make a server more interesting. Make the maps in logical order. Thayt is - geographically compatible, and - if MEC wins it, next map is X, and if US wins it, next map is Y. Like a logical IF THEN ELSE statement. )

Thank you all for the good spirit in truing to help an dementive old man =)
I probably will find out more and will show up later. Sorry for any aggressive post tone, thats only my way to express the swenglish.
Yes Manic, I am the luna you met there. C u in battle! =)
Btw, I was banned from that unbalanced systematic baserape game =)
I am now in a very good spirited, but not that skillful swedish clan. Some of my clanmates has the former version of PR, but I see no great interest to upgrade. I will try to promote it best I can.
