I probably will find out more and will show up later. Sorry for any aggressive post tone, thats only my way to express the swenglish.

Yes Manic, I am the luna you met there. C u in battle! =)
Btw, I was banned from that unbalanced systematic baserape game =)
I am now in a very good spirited, but not that skillful swedish clan. Some of my clanmates has the former version of PR, but I see no great interest to upgrade. I will try to promote it best I can.

Zoors

Good to see you still around Zoors .. i remember having some great matches with you as a squad mate with p1na heh.., ah older times.., anyhow ive totally relinquished the hold that Vbf2 had on me for good.., i exclusivly play PR. I remember the tournament checking out PRMM when it was like 10meg or something download lol.

PR now was very hard to get used to at first but soon as you have your first good teamplay round youll be hooked bigtime i guarantee it, especially when i know how much of a good teamplayer you are.

This mod was made for excellent teamplay and made it really hard for the bf2 smaktards in general, best move it ever made if you ask me.

As it says in my sig my ingame name for PR is frazzb0b.., look forward to seeing you on the battlefield !!!

"Get a mic" =)
Okay... Dynamic or Condencer?

How about this one:

Map: Jabal.
Team: US

Starting on carrier.
Find myself in a APC.
Exit and found myself immediately hurt by someone gettin in it after me, trying to drive. I start to sound "Ahhh"..."Uhhh" and red borders. Absolutely not due to noobness.
I swim and get up on the carrier besides the APC.
I get the Crewman, and take the APC and drive off (joined a squad during gameload)

I get a move order for the northest base. I drive there.

50 meters from shore, I get Teamkilled. While drivning the apc!!!???

The APC ends up 50 meters out in the water. People start swimming.
I respawn, and my Crewman kit is gone.
I swim to this base, now a US base, and try to find a Crewman Kit.

I gave up, Alt-Tabbed and wrote this message.

Now, how do I reenter that APC 50 meters out in the water, and drive to my Squadleader? Tough question?

During waiting for an answer, I will try to heal myself...

Edit: It continues....

When returning to game, some clever guy built a bunker where I now could get my Crewman. Talk about fast carpenters... And where did he get all the supplies from? I guess a airdrop... It all went fast... And I could swim out and get my APC. Maybe it was polish workers that helped me out?

Now, I went away on the road, soem US jeep ran into me and hurt the APC... probably english as he went on left lane...

A few yards further, a second humwee came loaded with people, and crasched right into me, this time they all went out, mined the APC and b4 I knew it a was teamkilled... again... Back in camp, I mined the entrance, got a new Crewman, and in runs this Jeep, and I got negative score, and got kicked from server. Haha.... isue 14 that pisses me off today...

The Tk mightve been the result of you initially getting hurt before you set off.., ie you bled out.

When you respawn you have to re-request the crewman kit..., sometimes its not possible if you loose the kit too fast you have to wait a while before you can obtain any limited kit.., it stops kit spamming etc.

Mining the entrance to your mainbase isnt always a good idea ;) the maps are that big and rounds last that lon that sometimes the enemy dont always get to your main. Besides there are sometimes a "Dome of death" around your mainbase.., this stops the enemy raping close range.

Getting kicked for negative score because someone drove into you is just plain bad luck .., but happens a lot on pub servers :P

Stick with it d00d and youll learn it eventually.., flow of battle is a very important thing to be aware of..., btw big tip of the day .. mines cant distinguish between uniforms or vehicles :D

Nah, honestly, I actually thought they where enemies as they where so stupid to blow me off, and heading to a taken base in that speed, so many of them =)
Must be enemies, I was thinking, and here I will serve them... Haha...

I saw no tags, but I remeber they where having US uniforms.... And eventually that meself came from a US carrier... Probably I had the same textilia on me Haha....

A hint: if you spawn in an APC on the carrier, you simply exit and request a kit which will be given.

Running around armours can result in painful death, blame only yourself if such a thing happens (you're the weaker, you have to look out). Meanwhile armours should be careful in a friendly environment.

I feel the way that your issues are mostly related to your lack of PR experience. A lot of people who played vBF2 come here with their confidence, then experience some strange things in the totally different gameplay and uninstall the mod with bitching around. No pity for their leaving. I can only advise to you to be patient and don't blame the mod if you're cursed with jerks. Oh, and RTFM! :)

best hint for ya would just join squads named "teamplay" or "teamwork" and just be a squad member, don't request kits just stay with ya squad leader and do basic stuff , after a while of seeing where other people are getting kits u will know , at first i hadn't a hell where to get kits , now its easy , i dont even have to think. just keep at it.

Hey Zoors. Your frustration is definitely high. Most of us, including myself, had to be "hazed" into the PR lifestyle. Meaning, when we all first played this mod, the learning curve is high. Like everyone is saying, there is alot to know, remember and do in this mod. TEAMPLAY is key, and that is what makes this mod so awesome. Heck, just look at my wonderful kill to death ratio..Nice huh!! .Also, when I first started this mod, I NEVER NEVER NEVER opted for being a squad leader, especially the first or second time playing,..usually I played a medic. You will die alot, but you will quickly see how the gameplay is. The medic has to observe and be aware. I still get a kick when I see medics taking point or going off alone...JEEZ. Now, I will on occasion play squad leader. I am not the best SL, but as I get better at the game, I get the confidence to lead. Knowing the rules, maps and gameplay is PARAMOUNT to being a good SL. Without it is a waste. SO my advise to you is to everyday scan over the manual for a few minutes before playing, and join up with a squad that is using TS or VOIP. IF you join a squad of deaf mutes..LEAVE. Take a medic kit, or a basic rifleman kit and try to stay with your squad. You will learn the mod better this way, and have an enjoyable time to boot.

Yes but what if I exit a APC and get hit by the next spawner? Happened twice today.
I had no chance to escape, the next spawner in line obviously did not have Crewman, but stepped on it anyway, and I got half dead. I couldnt move a millisecond.

I can RTFM forever, and it will not help me in these cases. Its just so lame. I have to memorize what dot on the over dotted carrier are NOT an APC....

Btw, I have four headsets now, one with neckband, one broken, one with open earcaps, and one with closed. Then I have one wireless without a mike, and a boomed phantom driven condenser... But thats for singing, not for gaming =) Also I have a bunch of large diafraghms... Happy now? ;)
Btw, it would be cewl if some1 could recommend a sound filter working like a FX send/return, so I could attach a DX styled plugin, and adjust my own voice to sound like a monkey or a nerd or somethin, or why not a 1940's field radioset? =)

Zoors, you just need to play PR more to get used to all these things. You can't expect to know all the ins and outs of the game on your first few times trying it. I've never even really read the manual to be honest, I just learned by playing mainly.

Besides most of the original post which is kind of dumb, because it's like someone who has never played starcraft before complaining when he doesn't know how to do everything in starcraft... , Zoors does touch on 2 points I have been thinking about for a long time, 1 is, despite the cool little advantage it gives an SL, I still think SL's should be able to request officer kits anywhere on the map - think of it as pulling out some near gear from his backpack. And 2, I wish APC spawn dots indicated on them that they were APCs - sure lots of times you can easily tell by looking at the map, but sometimes it's tricky to know, especially on a carrier for example. Maybe just an A circle next to it the way the squad number circles are on the rallies?

But yeah, the bottom line for you Zoors is, you shouldn't be playing as a squad leader. Play as a grunt for now till you learn some of the ropes. And if a server effectively forces you to be a squad leader then, don't play there I guess?

Yeah, I now know some more, and still I think its a disaster to have to run around in bases trying to figure out where on this map they hidden the place. Sometimes all over the mainbase, sometimes in very narrow spot.

And, I do think an officer would have education enough to drive APC's etc.
Tanks crew is okay, but an APC is just a waiste of time running after kits all the time.

And why not give the squadleader his officers kit once and for all???

We had a wonderful game yesterday with a lot of action, until all this running after kits screwed up the whole gameplan. People where obviously tired of it and the squad lost people, even the game lost people.

"-Take the Humwee back to the base to get a crewman and drive to the other side of the map and move the APC..."

Nice command, huh? When I finally found the APC, went into it, it was hit by a hidden tank... Took me about 5-10 minutes, that I could have used to fight the enmy instead. If the SL had possibility to drive that APC, he could have done it quickly. Frustrating.

And how many time did I get a light AT instead of a crewman?
I just moved my mose when selectin, and went into a base camp limbo.
"-Cant give you another kit soo soon after...".

Of 5 games yesterday, 3 of them was totally fun-less caused by this nonsense.

Which took down my interest for this mod a few steps. Today I am not that willing to play it anymore.

Just want to give my true exact feedback. No whining. I will give it a try later tonight.

Trust me, at first I was "what the hell is the point of all this racing around? Why can't they just let me start shooting people?" too, but once you get used to it, it gets better. Especially now that it's easier than before to get access to kits. If you've got a good commander, who sets up assets relatively close to the frontline, you shouldn't have any real trouble getting kits. Besides, vehicles are over-rated ;)

Smart infantry can own armor like crazy.

I thought that all condensers used phantom power, well I guess you get overheads and stuff you can run off AAs but they seem kinda rare. Probably ran off batteries more "back in the day" so I'll shut up now.

I've had a really good look though and can't seem to find any decent effect units for my mic, creative has a couple of useful ones but can't seem to get em to work. Wanna get my mic noisegated and compressed so I can use voice activation without stupid amounts of feedback and generally make my voice a little more consistent sounding.

I'll think about it.
What if we sample a button press on an old field radio, make a microphone amplifier just like the input on the PC (red contact etc.), take it up to line level, have a send/return, then a noisegate connected to the sample player, have a 3 kHz steep bandpass filter to generate the radio type sound, and mix it to the original.... "<katschhhhh!>....I see a sniper, heading sw downhill two fingers left of the building...<katschhhhh-Tss!!>
...and of course a electronic pop/noise-generator added to the mix... Hehe, would feel great. Hardware... I guess theres several ways to simplify such a circuit. I start building it when pre orders reach 200! =) Price? $99.95 of course! (adapter not included, manual on the net)

No, this isn't true. You can always get kits within 50 meters of the main base flag. So, simply turn on the 3d map (if it's off, you hit ALT to turn it on), look around till you find the flag, which will show you its distance from you in meters under it, then run towards it till it says less than 50 meters, and then request your kit.
