Bad luck or PR degradation

Post by Warmagi »

For over a week I cant find a good game in PR. No teamwork, no VoIP, squads just doing random stuff, PPL getting bored and leave the squad, not following orders, and so on and so forth. I didnt have a decent game for a week, so I played F.E.A.R, NFS Most Wanted, Carbon, and was coming back to PR for a round or two finding that nothing changed even on my trust worthy servers that I always had fun in good squads.

So is it just plain bad luck or is it PR going down?

If you live in Europe than Im 100% sure its bad luck. iGi and Thors are usually great. Bunch of VOIP and TMWRK squads. Clans with their squads that often leave a spot or 2 for pubbes etc.
I dont know how the gaming on US or Aussie servers is though.

Tactical Gamer has deliverd all my gaming need as of late, it just takes some time to get used to their server rules.

Im sure its bad luck ..., although i have noticed the player volume going down a little. Maybe thats just the smaktard factor getting bored?. Maybe you just need to join a pubbing clan or something?

Yeh iGi and thors usually offerup excellent teamplay, although i havent been on those servers for a while now as our clan is kinda hooked on 24/7 Kashan at the moment, which is fine by me i love tank battles and good coordination that this map needs.

Quote from ArmA forums says it all.
"Arma 2 has a very lucky dev team, who have a very patient community, who will always stay loyal in the faith that one day arma 2 will be complete.
Flashpoint has a weeks worth of out the box gameplay, after that it's boring. "

You might find yourself beeing orderd by some igi fella to "USE PILOT KIT ONLY, PISTOLS ONLY!" or some shit like that....

And they said hx was odd.....
Let me clarify this just a little bit more to the public, as I was there, knowing exactly what happened that round..
We were playing on Street with only a handful of lads. Street gets a bit boring if you've played it a couple of times before on that same night, so we suggested to all use pistols instead, to make the round just a tiny bit more exciting. Most people enjoyed it, as they were saying in the in-game chat, but I've talked to people on xfire as well, saying it was great fun.

And... if we said Helix was odd, that must have been a joke, because us and Helix have been brothers in arms for as long as I remember, to be honest.

Dune out ;) .

I always play on either Thors or TG, if you see the "VOIP Squad", feel free to join up!

Finally I had a good round, not that much VoIP, but lots of teamwork. We defended Munitions plant like crazy. I got silver medal, 887 points in the end, and our squad was best in our team. FINALLY!!!!!!!!! (but I needed to change server 3 times and squad s countless times :) )

Thank you for keeping my spirit up

If your on iGi or thors and you see either "UK VoIP" or "Infantry" their usually my squads n I don't usually stand for any shit if you can't find any other, probably better lead, squads.

... ... ... Man, now you just inspired me to get out of my chair, go across the street and get a six pack for tonights game. I can't show up sober, now can I?

Then I'm gonna order all the kids into the shed at Gardens (EJOD) under pretext that it's the worlds smallest disco. First one who don't dance will be shot. By a pistol. So that we don't break any IGI rules.

Let the game begin.

Just to add, after playing various rounds of street etc... It was a bit of fun to take a break since there were few people to do pistols.

I've noticed player volume going down here in Australia. For awhile we had full servers but now on the large maps we're lucky if we hit 40 people on the weekend. I'm at a loss at how to get more people to play... :(

Im American and I play IGI and Thors sametimes when I cant find any good places to play closer by and the ping really isnt to high and doesnt effect the gameplay too much.

Man, that would suck in Australia with no servers there, your clear on the other side of the world from most servers.

We do have a great server and the admins have done well to keep it alive as mods die here in Oz really fast. My other option is to get used to 250 ping. Fortunately I'll not be in Australia forever and get to come back to North America where gaming is best on the planet.

I'm moving to Japan next, do you think I'll get decent ping to west coast servers from there?

Nah, when this weekend comes, Il be darned happy, and regardless of what my isp have done/not done, IL be passing out!
To perform my duties and resurrect people, I need to stay conscious and not passed out on my keyboard. And after doing the math, I've found that a 6-pack keeps you light and giddy, not slurring and accidentally getting into blue vs blue situations.
