The battle of river Qwai
Server: Tactics And Teamwork
Map:River Qwai
Top Players:95% of them
"Christ this is an epic round"... We're in an even ticket deadlock and defending the Processing Facility. There had been some resistance but nothing too major... Yet... Tickets are still even at 320-321, maybe we should start to move....
The round had got off to a bad start... Due to "logistics problems" I hadn't got an officer kit. No matter the squad was all kitted out now and we had sufficient support on our first objective (mine).
We speed down the eastern bank of the qwai river and jump off at the jeti close to the mine.
[T&T]Viglen Was our sniper, he established himself in the hills southwest, giving covering fire he gave me and my medic (Can't remember your name but GOOD JOB!!!) enough room to get ourselves pushed into the northern section of hills.
Once there Viglen keeps spotting targets and we start to effectively suppress some oncoming squads.
Strange how far ahead of the frontlines the enemy was attacking. They were obviously Confident and with good reason...
A couple of squadmembers down, now we provide covering fire down to the mine. The dead respawn at the base and provide us recon on our second upcoming objective...The Government Offices...
Several squads lead by exceptional SLs such as Oddsodz storm the mine and eventually the area is totally secure, Our boat now destroyed we're left isolated at the mine "Begger it what shall we do now".
We start hearing the distant shots of QBZ's approaching again; reminds us of the building presence of Chinese authority over the province from their Government offices it's frustrating for us, we're used to storming the flags as soon as theyre available... when all of a sudden over radio I see.
"SQUAD 4 PREPARE FOR EXTRACTION, IS MINE CLEAR? IM COMING IN!! CAIN?!?!"
"THIS IS SQUAD 4, WE COPY! PULLING BACK FOR EXTRACTION THE SMOKE IS DOWN!"
"Here we go lads hop to it" I tell the men
Myself, My Medic and my one remaining Rifleman start falling back. Rico_UK swoops in from the south like a very windy noisy angel, he lands on the mine roof, My two squadmembers disengage and get into the chopper, I hop in last and Rico_UK dusts off and starts RTB to retrieve the rest of the squad.
We land at pigfarm and a group of eagerly awaiting squadmembers leap inside
the L'bird. We get dropped about 200m south southeast of Gov. Offices. The area is extremely hostile, shots are being fired from places we can't see.
Bleeding we manage to get an emergency RP down in a small shack.
I can hear the distant rumble of the PLA tank collumn driving their way towards the east, to the gov offices.
Suddenly PLA appear in a doorway across the road, full auto we both blast at each other as we dive for cover. Support gunner [T&T]Heskey Gives supporting fire into the doorway, a stray round blinds him and hes promptly taken out...
"We cant stay here..." the squad has been dessimated, I've used all my bandages along with ones of fallen comrades and just in time, our RP gets taken out.
I'm all alone.
A lone squadmember is pushing from the south to aid My extraction Southwest. =256=Varmint starts preparing an APC for give us heavy support.
I put down my move marker southwest, ordering the stragglers of other fallen squads to "fall back by fire and manuevor!!" I make my way to rendevouz with my squadmate. I request Rico_UK (in another squad BTW) to drop my squad near my southwest marker.
Rico dosn't respond, however I still see the chopper RTB to base... Checking the map I can see the broken remains of the assault party scattered around Gov. The distant rifle cracks and sounds of tank engines only serve as a reminder to the imminent onslaught the gov is about to recieve...
"Lets see how good this team really is" I'm thinking to myself as I see a new CO (Loco-Kirra) come into power and witness the troops begin and organised mobilization to take Gov.
Me and my support tentitavely creep towards the move marker as the sound of a chopper engine gets louder...
***End Of Part ONE***
Okies fellows, some timings may be off and atm I've only given the story of our squad but let me know what you think and I'll post PT.II

***PART TWO***
Breathing heavy, heartbeat thudding in my head (irl)... Me and [T&T]Gharak pushed east underneath Gov. Offices as silently and swiftly as we could. as we approached the gas station we could hear the eerie calm descend as the last remains of USMC resistance began to retreat and regroup.
The peace is disturbed as the littlebird's engines attract dozens of automatic rifle shots, forced to land early in the fields over the road and across the ditch from the gas station Rico drops my squad who promptly spread out to try and secure a very hot LZ.
"Tango's south!"
an enemy assault party had been heading to start to secure the Processing facility, they heard the sound of the engines and were coming straight me and my exposed squad lying open in a field...
We have visual on three targets approaching, one on the road, one in the hills southeast and another in the trees southwest.
Gharak had dropped to a knee and shot the single man in the forest, he then began firing suppressing shots at the sprinted on the road.
A new squadmate had just been cut down in the field and foolishley I broke cover to sprint across the road. Out of the corner of my eye I see the chinese man in the ditch take steady aim and fire a burst of 3 towards my supporting fire, Gharak. "I'm hit bad! can't see!"... I knew it was my fault because I should have been covering him. I could hear him coughing but couldn't go back across the road to reach him. Gharak patched himself up but unfortunately it wasn't enough and I heard his last breath as the final shots from more support in the forest hit his body.
"Pinned" in a dash across open ground with two squadmates down and screaming down the mic like the enemy could hear me I dive into the ditch. I fire several frantic bursts towards the crouching rifleman and his body tumbles lifelessly down the bank.
I hadn't even noticed yet that I was bleeding badly; I'd been shot several times while crossing the road.
Going totally against all my own training and orders I burst from cover again. The thud of a sledgehammer hits me in my chest as I break from the trees into the fields, instinctively I dive to the floor to the sound of MG rounds pounding into the ground. I'd now lost a lot of blood and couldnt see, each suppressing round deafened me as they cracked at supersonic speed over my head and into the ground in front of my face.
Then all of a sudden a much louder *crack* and... Silence.
A well aimed round from heskey killed the support gunner instantly as his attention was drawn towards me. Fumbling with my med pack I eventually get some dressings on my wounds, so severe I need all of them.
Me and THE medic (dam what was your name..?) Dash through the crops crosing the field to the south to find an elusive hostile in those hills.
we start to creep, I see a head pop up beneath me, in the grass, at the base of a mound. I hear the sound of fully automatic rifle fire and I feel an outer body experiance... I know I'm dead, Because god gave me a sign "You have been killed 30secs to respawn" *sigh*
I see just long enough to see my medic killed by the hands of the same person, only by grenade, not before the medic managed to pull the trigger and unload a burst into his chest and wound him severly.
***END OF PART TWO***
I'll carry on if public demand is there lol. My girlfriend just called because she needs picking up so See ya later

***PART 3***
So, Now we're back at the pigfarm. Our big assault on the government office was in tatters.
The base was a hive of activity, the wooping noise of the chopper engines as they Torque up the blades, the sounds of horns beeping as humvees storm out of the gate.
In the chaos we notice our APC parked neatly, awaiting troops to pick up. The squad piles inside the APC and with a loud hum we feel the APC start to move out.
We don't drive far from the pigfarm, the squad promptly bails out near the small shack east of Gov. Offices. As the 4 of us approach the shack we see movement inside. I start moving around south with a squadmate creeping through the sitch behind me. 1 support gunner watched the shack from east laid down, with the medic next ot him on one knee.
The sound of shots coming from the shack came earlier than I thought, counting heads I can't see the medic anymore.
Me and my squadmate pop up from the south and fire a few shots towards the shack, amazingly there's three of the buggers crammed inside that shack.
As the two separate 5.56 rounds hit the chest of one of the hostiles, his body armour can't withstand the impact at close range, he drops down to his belly and then stops moving.
The two other men pop their heads up, big mistake, support opens up fully towards the side of their unwary heads heads poking up just above the fenceline.
Disheartened at the loss of our medic we chuck down a quick area to Rally inside the shack. I order the APC to prepare to give us supprt as we move across the field to the Gov. Offices.
With the tell tale woosh of a H-AT around I feel the crewmans hearts sink and hit the floor. "Christs sake are we ever going to F&%$£ing get in here?
I hear the voice of the CO come over the radio, I say "radio silence squad CO comms"
"SQ4 do you copy?"
"this is SQ4 we copy over"
"Yes ok SQ4, It's no good at Gov. Offices, pull back to defend the Processing facility, I have SQ5 and 6 moving out to the Mine"
"Wilco CO, Requestion extraction on my location"
The squad groups up by the shack and prepares for Evac. I throw down a smoke grenade and the sickley green smoke starts building with thickness.
We can see anotyher good new pilot Scathekiller (or was it scothkiller? sorry dude...) crest of the hill, the sound of his miniguns strafing Gov. echoes off the small mountains nearby.
Then anotherL'bird crests over the hill, the pilot snaps right as he sees our extraction smoke screen. With forethought he placs the L'brid behind the smoke, keeping the chopper invisible to the enemy.
As fast as the bird landed the squad was in and away.
As the L'bird gains hieght I look left and right inside the fully laden aircraft. I see the painted camoflauged faces of once novice individual soldiers. Now a highley trained and coordinated unit.
The huge towers of the processing facility start to break through the fog into view. "SQ4 We're going to lose mine get on Processing FAST!"
"Shit..." Processing Facility fell just then, I don't feel the need to sap my squads morale more by saying we're losing mine too. "come on lads rico is going to drop us by this fence" I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous at the obviously huge presence at processing. With our squad being the first to the frontlines there's no way we can secure the area alone, trying to sound sure of myself... "OK lads, secure the LZ as we land, get this RP down and then we'll move east to west quick n quiet" Sounds easy enough,
"move inside the hanger west of Processing Facility and prepare to move in once we get reinforcements in the form of SQ2 from north"
I almost convince myself it's possible... I order my men to hold fire unless fired upon, I dont want our LZ given away, begrudgingly they agree.
The ground is moving up fast now... "Prepare to drop!!... "BAIL OUT, BAIL OUT, BAIL OUT!!!"
The sound of boots clumping against the firm clay packed soil...
In the blink of an eye, the chopper is gone and the feeling of total isolation sinks down on my squad like an icey cold snap...
***End Of Part 3***

***Part Four***
We crouch flattened up against the numbingly cold corregated steel fencing while the chopper flies away.
Some squadmembers are almost peeking around the corner, I can tell they're itching to get into the action.
I order the men to rally up back there if anything happens. If the shit really hits the fan I might be able to get to those hills to the east...
"Go go go!" Varmint breaks around the corner first, locks his rifle into his shoulder and sights his weapon
"Its Clear!"
Snaking out from behind the fence with ruthless efficiency the squad then fans out into a relatively solid Wedge, or Spearhead Formation.
We proceed crossing underneath the Processing Facility towards the east, I just wanna replace the RP in a more strategic position for the soldiers, by then SQ2 should be ready and we can start to put the squeeze on the enemy... Lets see if we can make their eyes bulge
The action kicks off on the northeastern side of processing, A L-AT round can be heard hitting the floor and the chattering report of rifle cracks begin to be heard as SQ2s assault commences from the north.
"Alright lads here we go, Weapons free burst shots, moving with me through these buildings, lets have it" As one, the unit moves from the RP, taking advantage of each door and entrance from the west side into the Processing Facilties Warhouses the squad bleeds through the open wound.
"Hostiles running 1 oclock" Inside the first warehouse, outside I hear two rifles open up a quick succession of bursts "...Tango Down" Varmint Confirms the kill along with Grand_Manuevor (I think that's the medic guys name )
"good job guys lets keep it moving don't stop, into this next warehouse, Let's get in on the flag and start capping, someone push further east, make sure that building's clean for me"
As I rounded the corner to walk through the door into processing Varmint warns me "Careful Squadleader I saw enemies around there" I bring up my sights and poke my head around the corner, nothing.
Moving along the wall I swing myself around the door, nothing still.
I cautiously move from the entrance through the first of the huge double doors towards the back of the main warehouse.
Just as I start approach the second of the double doors the Body of a soldier pops out briefly from behind the middle silo inside, he lets rip with a burst of automatic fire.
Most of the scattering of bullets hits the floor around me, one clipped me in my leg, it wasn't a bad hit. I returned fire with three steady bursts from the hip before firing two more on the move, I shifted myself behind the centrewall in between the doors.
The chinaman ducked and rolled his way off to the right, I reloaded my weapon and started to move for the other door on the right, I made my way around the silo on the right.
Sat there he was waiting politely for me to come through the same ol' door. One burst, His body twitched and that was it.
I turned around to see my faithful medic in combat stance begin to crouch down and take aim... at me? My legs went weak as I dropped to the floor, my heartbeat started throbbing in my head and all my senses started to cloud over.
Somewhere in the distance I could hear several semi auto shots, I could hear that they were definately rifle rounds but I couldnt peg down from exactly what type of rifle. The distant Exchange of gunfire abrubtly ended.
*BOOM* I felt like I'd been shot again, then a whining started to build up in the background *BOOM* My body spasmed and shocked I woke up alive on the floor inside the processing facility, I wasnt too sure where I'd been but I could only remember there being the body of one enemy here before. I staggered my way to the back wall and collapsed in a heap on the floor. Dazed and confused I saw the medic pack his Defibs away and start rolling bandages around my wounds.
"Wh.. What... What the fegging hell wh... who the fu.." I was confused trying to piece together the recent chain of events that had led me here "Just relax dude, We've got ya " Couldnt help but feel a glow of pride when I got my vision back and the first thing I saw was two of my Squadmembers Holding a defensive line watching the door at the front while the medic finished patching me up at the back. Seems they were taking care of me this time.
"one more tango sighted south... Down, Falling back on you Squadleader" Said Varmint as the last man outside
"Moving to a higher vantage to give recon on our situation" Echoes Heskey
Didn't take us much longer than 60 seconds to get to where we were now, dug in like vicious ticks, right in the chinese' neck, Which is what bothered me slightly... Where were they all? SQ2 still wasn't here, that should have given me a clue.
What didnt bother me was how efficient this squad was now acting, from a slightly shakey start to regaining a fully cohesive battle party, always good for a boost of morale it got me thinking "Shame they've nearly got us..."
"Alright everyone who's here, in the cap zone now please lets get this one going" No sooner had I said that, we lost the mine.
The CO's voice crackles into life over the radio "SQ2 and 4 can you stay there while everyone else sorts out the mine, you have heavy resistance on the way"
The Flag begins to fly "Alright guys I want you all spread out now weve got this, get yourselves established and dig in for defence. CO says we have some heavy shit coming in" I felt silly saying "heavy reisistance" *Tumbleweed blows across* Processing Facility felt dead.
We'd dispatched the only squad we could find in seconds with methodical precision, although their officer was still out there somewhere. "Call out your view directions guys lemme hear those firing arcs"
"Heskey, North west to north"
"Varmint, South Sou' East"
"Rach, West"
one by one as I look at the map my SA grows and I visualize every firing arc we have covered.
"Ok this place is locked down tight now, good work guys now lets await some new orders see wtf we need to do next"
Now that we're out of the frying fan (and going somewhere else...) the squad can relax a bit. We start the usual banter over VOIP about how things are goin etc. cracking the odd joke here and there.
There's an undertone of nervousness in everyone's voices. We still don't know where the enemy are, we know theyre coming and can see SQ2 on the map holding back something heavy just outside the front gates.
"Can't see anything" calls heskey from his tower way up high "I can hear vehicles though, and lots of gunfire" he adds
An eerie calm descends upon the tattered old factory, checking the map I see SQ2 fall apart and one by one vanish...
"SQ2 do you copy?... SQ2? SQ4 do you read we've lost SQ2, what's your situation?"
***End Of Part Four***
Christ even I thought I'd be done by now lol, I'm having to write this from "battle notes" now turning into quite the novel this is lol
tried DLing the battle rec but my computer didnt record it properly in the first place by the time I found out it was gone :'(
Lotsa other epic Qwai rounds there though Our server seems to have some sort of affinity with that map...

***Part 5 ***
I have a second medic in the squad. So with them following me I quickly move to check the western warehouse area. Hiding behind a red shipping container I hear "..Oh Sh$! here they come! 3 of them coming for the front gate. Argh! I'm hit.... I'm down"
"one sighted, front gate, Hold fire" I watched as he slowly moved along the fenceline, two more faces appeared around the side of the front gate and started to move behind the first, thats what I wanted to see... "Open Fire"
The mixture of sounds of burst and semi auto fire from the rifles rattled out of the warehouses. One soldier tumbles to the floor, another dives behind a small hill while the third desperately tries to run out the way he came, to no avail.
I move south away from the warehouse entrance, too exposed and the rest of the squad have a better angle on the final target than me. As I turn around I see puffs of blood erupt from my medics chest. "Fall back!!!" I shout just before seeing the med drop to the floor lifeless.
Foolishly confident from his buddies kill from outside the compound (maybe in the woods somewhere?) the last man stands and runs, he's dosn't get far before the standard "Tango down..." Echos from several Squadmembers
I start sprinting for my life to get behind a container, the assault party may be dead (all three of them...) but there's still a marksman out there somewhere.
I take a bad hit in the back of my right thigh while I'm running, everything goes hazey just before I dive behind the container. Wrapping a couple of bandages around myself at least feels like it's holding my leg together. Still woozey I stand up to begin to cross into the central warehouse to meet with the squad.
I have a kneejerk reflex as I see the soldier take aim out of the corner of my eye. 50m south of the south entrance, I spin on my heels and take aim, too late. The round slams into my tattered body armour and instantly concusses me. I wildly start pulling the trigger and calling for help, another faint figure emerges in the distance...
"CONTACTS!!!! Two tangos south!! they've come around theyre inside now, I'm hit, HELP! AHHHHHH!!!!!"
Yelling over the radio I keep pulling the trigger, Felt like ages but in no time at all I'd emptied my mag.
As I reloaded the weapon I tumbled to the floor next to some concrete, I crammed some wadding into my wounds, it wasn't enough. I could just about see again but I was still bleeding badly and could barely just walk.
I looked back to the southern entrance... Nobody.
I was totally helpless, I heard footsteps, Slow creep ones at first and frantic running that was getting louder.
My heartbeat kept beating harder and faster, left, right, Duck, Through the door, check the alley, northern entrance, southern entrance.
There was too many places to cover my head felt like it was going to explode and it pretty much did the next time I checked the alley.
No sooner had my body hit the floor were two squadmates from the warehouse gunning down my assailent.
"We need a medic here!"
"There's no point he's gone..."
The distant thumping of an APC bushmaster cannon firing at full whack can be heard from far away as I start slipping into the third person view and then the blackness.
I come too and start running from the RP to meet heskey who's stood on the eastern side of the eastern warehouse.
"Cain there's a support truck there..."
"OOOOOoooo" Is all that goes through my mind at that point. Though there had been recent logistics issues maybe we could get some assets built on the frontlines.
I ordered the plcement of a bunker and to my shock the foundations were planted. I call the rest of the squad in over VOIP to help repair. as they fall back the radios go frantic... "they're coming in!"
"Left side, left side quick!!"
"They're on the western wall!!!"
"Too many of them.. MEDIC!!!"
As the rest of the squad promptly gets dispatched heskey sets to work building. soon enough more squadmates have returned from the rally and we now have several shovels at work. In no time we have a fully functional combat bunker
At that point the processing facility flag drops, along with the mine.
"2 and 4 we need processing back, the mine has folded" Faster than you'd think possible the flag at mine has changed an awful shade of red...
From nowhere squad 2 return within the newly built bunker.
Now it's back down to just us and SQ2.
With mine looking like a lost cause for now and the processing facility flag fast being captured we cannot give the enemy one more inch, even if they do get the flag they must not be able to move away from it.
SQ2 promptly shift out towards the north, I order my troops to move silently in the south of processing and hold there while me along with Varmint and Grand_Manuevor head out north with SQ2 to set down a more advanced rally point.
It's time for retaliation...
"Christ this is an epic round" I thought, Tickets deadlocked at 320-321 it was time we started to fight our way out of this mess.
"Squad hold, we'll get this RP down and then well come back and sort this lot out"
Excellent Optimism right there whilest in my mind I was really saying "We're so fucked"... One flag standing between the Chinese army and the US main base. Wouldn't you think the same?
The only thing in the way of the tidal wave of oncoming PLA forces are a couple of determined Squads.
I catch a glimpse of the sunset reflecting off the water, Almost looks like a pleasent place... Almost
***End of Part 5***
I must admit I didn't think it'd take this long lol lemme know if this is starting to drag on a bit and I'll hurry the conclusion on some
