1. Saw can be just as short as a minimi with the short barrel + para stock.
Interestingly enough, Jane's claims that the minimi and SAW have identical lengths with different length barrels. Very odd.

Anyhow, what is the general deployment of the para + short barrel version? I assume pretty widespread given the simple changes that need to be made.

Said person is not worthy of the term 'friend', unless he carries with him another 200 link to clip on the end of the fast disappearing first belt :)

Fine.

Said associate :p .
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Regarding the whole 200 rounds thing. Running out would mean more like 600 rounds, as an AR carries 3 boxes with him. I also carried 200 rounds belted and unboxed in my buttpack or rucksack, and so did my battle buddy.

Under most circumstances I could remove the box from the abdominal pouch and get it locked faster than having an ammo bearer rip his belt from a pocket, grab the leader tab, make sure links are right, etc. This means the only time I really needed to use the spare belted ammo was when the firefight was over with and I needed to reload the boxes.

The STANAG mag feed was simply designed for emergencies only, not common use. A jamming 30-rounder is still better than nothing at all, trust me. Every extra bullet going downrange is another chance to hit Al Q in the *** as they run away.

@Red: You just reminded me when I first tried MilSim using airsoft. The weapon I was using was a full-metal replica, and I used CLP out of habit. Should have seen the look on the owners face, can't blame me for trying though.

"What the hell is Break Free and what are you doing with frothy yellow gunk on my new airsoft!?" You guys still using 372B to clean out the bore? or weren't you worried about fliers?

Yeah, you're indeed wrong. It's actually a vulve the operator can twist to increase/decrease the gas flow and thus resulting in variation in it's ROF.

Which's located here.
