Pilot Special Ops?

Post by Corpser »

Hola the forum,

So, I have a ponderable. Why are people taking choppers, getting really high over their intended target and ditching the chopper(waisted asset) and chuting into where ever they want.

Granted, it is a neat idea, but do it with a dedicated pilot to keep the asset going. Everyone else grab pilot kits to chute in with.

Oh, a note for the spec op pilots, shotguns win over pistolas! HAha.

Pilots doing that?? Never seen it, it's odd though because pilots cant cap flags, they have a pistol, a smoke pads and a knife. Not very usefull people on the field if you ask me.

I think in the next patch they are gonna replace Pistols with another pistol but silenced...

They hope to kill someone with a better kit. Shotguns help prevent that dream :)

had this 2 weeks ago. we were mec side on jabal and pushed back to our last flag..i manned the tow and was wondering not bad as soldiers leg dropped in my zoomed sights. think i was kiling him right in the last half second before he would have killed me then of course he would have had good chances with my ak+gl.

A pilot can capture a CP just like anyone else.
Where did you get that idea from? Insurgent civilians?

Manual says they can't, and as a pilot I've experienced not capping flags. And they only capped in the vid cause they got 2 new kits.

Pilot kits don't count towards flag cap. You get another kit and you're good to go.

Personally I haven't seen any pilot spec ops ditching helos, maybe I'm missing something big here?

I've been the victim of a successful paradrop on East Beach, Jabal.

SF is getting silenced pistol, have not read anything about pilots getting changes.

I was in their squad on OGT and we were ditching the chopper, probably because by the the time everyone had been killed it would respawn.

I can understand the tactic, just hate the waste of a team asset for a few individuals. It is worse than soloing a tank/apc. The whole paratrooper thing works well in RL.

Maybe I'm just jealous I can't fly a chopper....

Thats because it isn´t the pilot who jumps out..

Alex, the times I've seen this I wondered why a good chopper just stopped working and fell. Then found the pilots on the ground. I have no problems with people jumping out of the chopper if they aren't the pilot! I hope they have a chute!

A paratrooper kit would be might nice, even in short supply. 1 or 2 would be loads of fun. Perhaps SF will get parachute one day.

Heck, it could be set up like most of the special insurgent weapons. Have them on a spawn timer at certain CPs.

PR should have a special forces map with c130's harriers, fast ropes, paratrooper kits, silenced weapons, and objectives like destroying targets/assassinating the commander.

ha ha

I can say for a fact that the most successful at this tactic is a SL named Cheomesh. I was in his squad once and he told me to Fly the chopper and i did, kept flying it. The key however is making sure you dont abandon the heli, because you have to come back for the fallen ones.

Actually I do this quite a bit on Basara but we have a dedicated squad and we dont abandon the chopper. We just look for cashes and rallys for weapons on the flight down. This tatic works very well if you know what you are doing.
