Mainly an infantry map...until you cap the last valley base. The UK is rewarded with a Apache.
Apache????? ARE YOU CRAZY????
This is such a nice looking map... a Apache would destroy it because it would dominate this map soooooo hard! ok if you put in a lot of aa rockets at hidden weapon dumps it could work....

The Apache only spawns when all Insurgent flags are captured but one as far as I know, and I think that should be pretty hard to do for the British.

Just a heads up for those that dont have time to go through the last 19 pages.

Features:
- British vs Insurgents.
- Northern Afghanistan based map.
- Fight from lush poppie crops to high Afghanistan hills.
- Once the valley is secured a long and hard mountain pass will test the British.
- British Outpost with *sniper rifle over looking the valley.
- Many mountain trails.
- Insurgents will have random RP generated (caves, houses, hidden)

British Goals
Push the Insurgents out of the valley. Only then can the British receive *[Apache] air support. Then proceed into the mountains and find the Insurgent base.
* The addition of the apache may be taken out, but its also very dangours for the UK to fly in these areas

Insurgents Gaols
The British have been cutting down valuable poppie fields. Your family depends on this revenue. Attack the British outposts and keep the valley clean of the British army.

*Still in testing for gameplay

Hey coderedfox do you think that you might consider an insurgency version of this map as well as the current AAS version?

I would say that this map is too small for insurgency, not enough places to hide caches and too smaller area to search, would be too easy for the attackers.

Yeah I might, But as Rhino said its a bit small. Plus INS version are very rare on the server lists. I want to keep this a mostly grunt war field i.e "get the Talaban out of the village". If this ends up going good I may make a larger one.

Oh.. OK then, I hadn't really considered the logistics of the thing tbh. INS is pretty popular, it's just that Al Basrah is a wee bit long in the tooth now so I think players are a bit fatigued with it, also it might have something to do with the removal of air power, but, that's my own suspicion & Op Archer is crashing for some mysterious reason at present, otherwise, it's a brilliantly devised game mode - IMHO of course! just lacking a wee bit in the variety of maps to play that's all..

If its a bigger map sure, but I like to work where the team getting the BIG weapons needs to fight for it first.

providing the insurgents have a bunch of hand held AA in the hills it wont be much of a problem :)

You should put a few AA cannons in the valley, that would give an explanation as to why you need to capture it for the apache to arrive.

Already in the works/map :-D The Apache wont have any easy time being top dog but it will be valuable in supporting the troops once they have to climb the mountain pass.
