One time on Jabal, there was a few of us USMC on top of the tallest building in Al Burj. I had the SAW and was firing down on some MEC approaching from the west and south. So I was taking sniper and other kinds of fire for a while, eventually MEC APC's were firing on us from the bridge to the NW. I lived until I ran out of ammo.

When i whip out a sniper on Kashan, get a sniper squad going, and just pwn anything, nothing better than getting inserted onto big hills in the middle, and just shooting anything that moves

Commander on Quai River on the iGi server. Was great fun as all the squads followed orders and did what was needed to do pushing forward very quickly.
After a while I was informed an enemy squad was comming in from the south, ordered a helo to my location and we flew past opening fire on them. Killed off their little spec. ops squad.
And I was like "yeah!!"

I was playing Qwai as U.S.. We had captured Fishing Village. My 3 man squad was supposed to defend but the other two were getting a supply truck. A full chinese nanjing came rolling in. I was hidden in one of the wooden sheds. I popped my head up and took out the gunner with a head shot. Then, I threw a couple of well placed grenades to take out two others. Two others ran in different directions and I took them out with some well placed shots.
I had defended a flag from a full squad on all my own =)

On Kyongan, a couple days ago on the TB server.
Was defending the airdrop and laying down as much supressive fire on Kyongan as we could. I lead the sqaud standing up most of the round even though enemy fire was coming down on us most of the round. I felt pritty stupid, but I only died 4 times, was cool though.

Re: Times You Felt Invincible
Once in 0.5 Al Basrah, I was sniping with the M95. I was behind Facility(if anybody can remember where it was) up in the small village type thingy over looking the main part of the map, with the exploded truck in it. Anyways I was up there sniping and an Insurgent came up and killed me(from behind) and I saw he stole the M95. If he had just killed me I would not have been able to care less, but he had the M95!!!! So I spawned at the VCP and was on my way back there, then I thought if I die another insurgent would get my M16A2/M203, so I stopped by the basement and grabbed the SVD that was in there, then I continued on. When I was about 15 feet outside the small outlooking mini vilage thing, I saw the Insurgent with my M95, he was standing up so he culdn't fire at me! even better!......then I saw an Insurgent medic next to him, and another Insurgent running by, I thought quickly O SH!T! they got a whole squad here! Then I though that If I took as many down as I could, that would buy me time to come back with my M16 then it might be a show. Then I ealized that the Insurgent who took the M95 was looking at me....
So I popped him in the face, then I took out the medic as he bought out his AK. Then I turned to try to run back to the(US captured and fiendly area) Facility but I saw an Insurgent with an AK 20 feet directly ahead of me. So I shot him without having time to look through the scope. Thne I figured why not? I'll go try to kill one more before I get killed by the 3 more that are after me! So with 6 rounds left I walked for only a few seconds before shots went past my feet and I backed up behind a building, then I came out the other side and shot an Insurgent in the head and he went down. Then I saw one hiding by a bench thing attached to a building(you know, the white thing thats supposed to be a bench or something). I pumped 3 rounds into him and the distance between him and the end of my barrel was his turban. Then the last Insurgent in the squad happened to walk by and as I looked up, he saw me and I guees he freaked since I had killed his whole squad, so he did a running try to shoot at me to scare me move. It didn't work. I popped him in the side and chest with my last 2 rounds and the whole squad was dead. I knew that if I had tried to take the M95 I might be killed again, so I sat there and watched the M95 until it disappeared, But no Insurgent squad came, luckily for me because I ran out of ammo and had 10 rounds left. Then I ran around the battlefield for the last few minutes with my SVD... Nobody shot at me, and I did not have to fight again that round, but I knew for those last few minutes in the round.....I was invincible.

Gangster's story, but I had the SVD, the Insurgents knew where I was, and they all had automatic weapons with 30 rounds each hunting me, and the action wasn't across the way over yonder...it was all around me....cplgangster wrote:when i was a insurgent and took out a squad and a half with the mosin from across the street they were like looking around thinking wtf is hitting us lol i then got blasted by warrior who saw me dam thing.

I was at Bi Ming advancing on the Chinese outpost in the south. My squad was under fire near Bi Ming itself but I was too far away to do anything when I learned that. So I crept upon the outpost, and as soon as I laid down to spy a Chinese squad was huddled around. I whipped out my SAW and within two seconds at least half of them were dead. The Chinese were too suprised to do much, and I ended up getting another one and suppressing the rest. I went around a building to avoid counter-attack but an enemy was two feet in front of me around the corner. One sweet spray-fest later he was dead and I was suppressing more enemies all over the outpost. Unfortunately some guy came and gave me a good QBZ burst in the back. But until then I was on my best roll.

Operation Ghost train, 30 on 30, chinese team
I started a squad and only got 3 members, so instead of rushing for flags i hurried my squad across the river and set up a ralley far behind enemy lines,we then lay in wait along side the road and caught 1 full truckload of soldiers as well as 1 fully loaded land rover. On my order both vehichles were immediatly turned into scrap metal all men killed. with out a commander present i took the initiative and told squads 1 and 2 to capture north bridge while squad 4 was to hold south bridge, squad 5 was ordered to take up our previous ambush positions while we squad 3 moved to flank and harass the defending troops at the temple.
Game was won and my entire squad did not take any deaths <---hard to believe but it happened (we had an excelent medic)

reasoning behind that is natural instincts are flawless, it is the mind and thought that makes all creatures flawed. for example as humans we desire results and to be the best so we venture on to take unnecesary risks to complete unnecesary objectives, whereas the game could be won by avoiding the main combat and simply using what you allready have to slow down the advance of enemy reinforcementsH3eadshot wrote:Ironic way to feel invincible
It's weird when you get those rounds where you end up pulling of incredible shots and being able to out-manouver, gun and waste all enemies in your path. Happens on all shooters, probably 1 in every 50 games or so. Although, when you start trying, that's when you screw up.
Kind of like you just go on auto-pilot.
(i.e. ambushing troops heading to, instead of assaulting dug in troops at a flag.)
when you dont think about it you play simply for the prospect of victory, when you try you play to gain more score than your teammate making it more challenging since now you have say 30 on 30, 59 opponents and not 30

Hardly, for instance, natural reaction to being shot at is to panic and try and run away. Armies spend hours drilling these instincts out of their soldiers to keep them alive.Bringerof_D wrote:reasoning behind that is natural instincts are flawless
Natural instincts are flawed in the modern world because the natural world in which they were developed has changed much faster than the instincts have evolved.

Oh....many times....It's always those times, when I'm saving my squad/teamates,or the last one standing,or I come out of situations, where the average player would've died in very quickly...It's happened so many times...But I'll tell of one time...
Map:Al Basrah
Team:UK
My squad an I were moving near the VCP,trying to make our way into the village area,to search for caches, and kill some insurgents in the area,we spotted. We set a rally in a little biulding, and right as we walked out,it seemed, insurgents were just all around the little compound. So I planted a defend order at the spot, and enemy technicals began to flood in,along with hostile infantry. We had no support, except just us,our squad...I had an M249,and was taking out things in all directions, technicals, infantry, you name it.My squadmates had scoped rifleman kits, one marksman, and one medic. And we held the place, and must've killed like half the team,on a full server...We ended up,later on getting our rally destroyed and getting a Merlin evac, and moving into the city, where we had a Firebase, and more teamates...

Re: Times You Felt Invincible
I usually feel untouchable when i'm in the cockpit of a A-10, knowing my Squadmembers are lasing tarets at the ground, and i don't know what it is about it, but using a joystick makes you feel soo much more powerful than using Mouse + keyboard, i guess it because i have more control. but anyway it's just an incredible feeling pointing the GAU at an enemy squad/vehicle and then opening fire compleatly shredding them up because you know when you are fireing that gun on the target, that target is doomed. usually when i have destroyed my target with the GAU, i tilt my wings towards the ground and look to see if i can see any bodies in the midst of the burning, twisted metal (and checking if there are any enemies left of course)

Cobra on old basra. It was epicly hard to shoot one down when AA dropped. AA kits were easy to dodge.
