[Video] Gameplay footage on Al Basrah, squad lead by fuzzhead

Post by hgl_420_division »

Hey guys, here is one video of 1 hour using fraps compressed to 30minutes. Played on the map Al Basrah, with fuzzhead as Squad Leader.

This is how I like to play PR as infantry.

PART 1 = YouTube - Project Reality v0.75 - Infantry gameplay action PART 1
PART 2 = YouTube - Project Reality v0.75 - Infantry gameplay action PART 2
PART 3 = YouTube - Project Reality v0.75 - Infantry gameplay action PART 3

It might be long to watch, but I suggest it if you have some time! Fuzzhead gives very good information on some strategies.

What you guys think?

I really enjoyed those videos,

A great example of the optimal PR experience.

Only thing that could spice it up is footage taken from the BR, but since that is so time consuming to get I can't blame ya for not getting it

very cool, quality teamwork.

I actually got inspired and googled pr gameplay and stubmbled upon wegame after that. I was on their website and seen that project reality was number 3 featured group!
I went digging in to the footage and noticed another video:

Basically, this isnt fuzz's first time at great leading, check this vid out:

[WEGAME]http://www.wegame.com/watch/Tactical_Gaming_Al_Basrah_2[/WEGAME]

(rather long and boring, but shows how pr can be fun just by doing "behind the scenes" type of stuff, showing pr is not all crazy action.)

really cool since i like mech inf (junkie lol) I enjoyed it.

cheers to fuzzhead

thanks for recording hgl i didnt know you were doing that hehehe

damn those dirtbikes drive-by IED's were pests heheh... but its our own fault we didnt have mechanized support with us to take out vehicle threats (couldnt find anyone interested to team up with us at the time).

good games, hopefully more players will record some of their good gameplay rounds and post them up :) i like these types of videos, that are just straight video footage with a bit of editing... i much prefer this style to the fancy ones from battlerecorder with all the music etc. The VOIP is the most important part of these videos.

I just love Gameplay videos.
Especially this one... good job!

Hopefully more of these video on the internet can show "newcomers" how it should be done :-)

you need recording software, which you can get free.

for example, xfire (enable it in the options), fraps (the paid version is better tho) or wegame, which I havent tried, but it looks snazzy.

Hell yeah! Notice when we get killed at a building, then we respawn on the rally point and start moving toward that same building... We are crawling in the field looking with our binocs and we can see and hear Dirtboy saying "Oh god... 3 insurgent..... 4-5-6 Insurgent! 7-8!!! 9!!!" That was funny! :P

yea, and when you got surrounded, everybody talking "oh my god, jesus, we are in s*** right now"... tell me a game you have that feeling ;)

I recommend you check out Vimeo for gameplay videos. You can post them in HD (1280x720) and no length limit.

You can check out mine here:

Basrah is epic when British don't destroy the palace bridges, so Insurgents can throw jihad cars and technicals out on the roads 24/7

You got some awesome footage dbzao! But I already saw all of those! :P Good vidz!!!

I registered on vimeo but the bandwidth is 500MB per week..? And must be 10minutes maximum? All 3 vidz are 330mb each.

Doesn't have a 10 min maximum, my sunset city one is 20 min long and 446 Mb (original).

Yes, it has a 500 Mb week limit, but a 10 min video being 330 Mb it's just too much.

Here's the settings I'm using when exporting:
Vimeo HD FAQ

Of course you won't be able to upload all your videos now, but considering you wont be doing a LOT of videos all the time, this limit wont be much of a problem. Unless you do a lot of videos everyday.

Not saying you should use it, but the quality... there's no match. Pick your best ones and upload there. I still upload mine to YouTube since I have a bunch of subscribers, but the best ones I put the HD version link to Vimeo.

The is that I fraps my game Half-Size of my resolution (1280*800)... so my output .avi are 3.90gig file each at 640*400 resolution. I then compress them trough VirtualDub in DIVX format. After that I get them in Adobe Element 4, do my editing, save as .avi uncompressed and RE-Compress them in VirtualDub in .AVI .....

Can you give me your way of processing?

EDIT: I guess your way of processing are the same as in the Vimeo FAQ... I'll give it a try! :) Thank you

I edit the raw fraps files in Adobe Premiere CS3 and then export the video as quicktime full quality (no bitrate limits). Then I open that file in Quicktime Pro and reexport with those settings in the Vimeo FAQ. I do this second step because I don't get some of the options I need in the Premiere Export.

About the resolution, it's not a problem. Just increase it to match the size. Needs to be exactly 1280x720 to be considered HD, so you will probably need to do some cropping at the top and bottom. Not a big deal, you can see my latest videos are cropped, and it's ok.

Another reason to upload to Vimeo is that anyone registered in the site can download your original files. So basically I'm using it as a storage for my videos. No need to keep them in my computer. If I need them anytime in the future, I can just download the originals, so having them there in HD is great.
