Operation Archer - General Tactic

Post by General_J0k3r »

What you need:

A commander
A capable (!) pilot
3 Squads doing what the commander says.

Setup:

If at all possible, the 2 choppers should be filled with 2 squads. One squad makes a convoy consisting of one or two HMMWs and maybe a truck. The HMMW squad moves towards the first cache. if they have a truck, they should construct a firebase nearby the cache.

the other two squads land SOUTH of the hilltop in E5, set rallies and secure the hilltop (the cmd should be with them if possible). once this is done, the two choppers drop their supply crates on top of the hill. a firebase is then constructed up there as well.

One of the two hill squads will then hold up there, getting SAW, HAT a sniper and lots of firepower generally. the hill should be fortified towards the south entrance as well as the east where one can get up with grappling hooks. The purpose of the hill squad is to give cover fire for the other squads. almost all possible cache locations except the airfield north can be taken under fire from up there and regularly, caches can be taken out in the city or the fields north of the hill from a distance, thus not using any tickets.

the second hill squad will move out with a helo to help with the first cache.

now the strategy is as follows: while the hill squad pounds the city and all enemy spawns around the hills especially using the spawning HMMWs, the other two squads roam the map for caches. firebases should be destroyed once not needed anymore and constructed near any cache that is being attacked. it is not necessary to have a truck with you once you have two choppers who can drop supplies.

the commander would usually stay on top of the hill, coordinating the cover fire from the hill. if one attacks the city, the hill squad can effectively provide cover by fire for the squads searching for the caches. if the fire is coordinated properly, the searching squads can move in a "bubble of calm" while around them hell is going on killing any insurgent trying to attack the searching squads.

mandatory is: firepower, firepower, firepower as well as good communications between the commander and SLs as well as excellent pilots.
