New to PR

Post by davetboy_19 »

Just thought I would say hello. I'm new to PR but have played BF2 for a few good weeks after a very long break. The change over has been more of a trial by fire, with a few people being extremely helpful along the way (and some the opposite).

I would love to hear some tips or general things I should know about PR, I'm already aware that If I cant fly then DONT  . And I have been working my skills back up on a training server (was a pretty good heli pilot when I played back in the day on BF2). I specialize in long range kills and will be looking for a clan or something like that once I hone my skills to what they were all those months ago.

(please move if this is the wrong section...or if you don't have a section for this type of introduction thing then feel free to laugh and delete)

Forgot to say it but I'm also from the greatest place on earth (other than the fuel prices). I'm in QLD. So far when other aussies hear my voice over the chat I get helped a lot more. And I've been trawling through the youtube PR vids and Vids on here soaking in all the info and tactics I can.

Hi and welcome to the real world!

User Guide - Project Reality Wiki

Read the manual. It HELPS.

Use VOIP.

Listen to the SL.

Be polite on the servers it´s a small community..

ASK questions but do not spam them.

Do not rush and die, take it easy, listen, check the map. Stay as infantry the first rounds. Then move on to vehicles.

I think you will be doing fine! Good luck!

I have been slowly reading the guide when ever I'm stuck on different commands or things (first time as a SL was a nightmare). Unless I know 100% that I can rush the guy hiding behind that rock then ill stay the hell away and work something out. And Im pretty polite over the team speak unless I'm team killed when its 100% obvious Im on there team (standing right in front of them...its happened)

The pdf manual is really good to get you most of the general tips you will need.

For good gameplay videos check the PR WeGame group:
