The RAIN OF DEATH
T&T Server, Kashan
I'm an Officer, leading a squad with both Havocs. I'm Happily sitting on the hills just East of the bunker complex, using a laser designator to target vehicles and attack orders to call in cannon strikes.
With the helis out of visual range, I sit and quite happily throw down attack order after attack order on the besieged complex at locations where the US troops seem to be congregating. A second later, the heavens open, spewing heavenly droplets of HE upon the entire area until I give the hold fire order. One second I would be observing US infantry running around, the next the area would be plastered with explosions, until nothing was left but bodies and dust. Enjoyably, I tracked every infantryman I saw, wherever they hid and directed the strikes to their hiding positions.
This goes on for a fair while, wave after wave of US troops getting massacred by the RAIN OF DEATH, with occasional missile strikes thrown in for goos measure, until the enemy commander drops a JDAM on my head. Just me, alone, in the mountains, without a single other friendly anywhere nearby.
It was just like calling in Orbital strikes in 2142, only far more accurate, responsive and devastating.
For the first time on the game, I actually felt sorry for the enemy...but only a little. I felt more glad that I was the one directing the attacks, rather than the one on the receiving end.

Re: The RAIN OF DEATH
I was one of those poor us infantrymen. But to be fair, we slaughtered your infantry in response, hence the repeated moves over the open ground.
It was a good round with high casualties on both sides. My personal highlight was a flanking manuver at the start of the round, getting behind outlawz's tank and destroying it. Even if he became the havoc gunner, it was worth it.
And by the way, we thought the JDAM did nothing. So at least we took out something valuable!

A couple of snaps from the battlerecorder;
![Image](http://www.orbital-one.co.uk/PR/screen011.png)
"What's that sound?"
![Image](http://www.orbital-one.co.uk/PR/screen012.png)
The sweet, sweet taste of inevitability

Don't run - you'll just die tired

This is when there's 15 vs 15 people on Kashan, I couldn't even get an engineer. I need to come up with a better plan when stalling North Village with one tank.joethepro36 wrote: It was a good round with high casualties on both sides. !
Was fun but we never had enough players on both sides, either everyone on MEC side was infantry, that got killed, then everyone went into tanks and we lost Bunkers.
And the low flying Cobra would be dead if someone bothered to take a Tunguska, when they spawned
![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
Instead I had to keep chasing it all over the desert, until Harrod managed to laze it and a Hellfire shot it down.
Also my pilot said, it was his first time flying in PR. Kinda noticed when he couldn't stabilize the chopper.
We got shot down out of nowhere at our main since Mr. Cobra decided to kill us, when we went rearming, how sporty
EDIT: Harrod can you PM me the BR file?

The RAIN OF DEATH stopped when i dropped a JDAM on your *** though didn't it! hehe
And you said it was a wasted JDAM... one of the best i've used! Saved us a ton of tickets and general misery from those bloody helis.
(i think thats me running for cover in the bottom pic!)

Ty vm
I'd go on the website to get it, but the last time I downloaded a Qwai BR from the exact time I played and even had my name in the list (love your BFR manager thingy) it turned out to be a BR of Basrah![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

Heh yeah; the map names are screwed. It's a bit trial and error finding the one you actually want. The in-game downloader don't work either; links to another server, will have to get epoch on that at some point ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: The RAIN OF DEATH
Oh sweet jesus, thanks!
I'm going to watch the tanking and the jdam, very closely. I need to examine the anti tank fire angles etc. Plus, seeing me getting killed repeatedly by 30mm fire should be fun.
For the record, the first screen of a hellfire about to hit the tank was me, I think.
Also, as outlawz posted, the mec problems was using far too many infantry and not getting a tunguska fast enough. But on the us side it was building a second bunker that took far too long, a good 20 minutes were wasted instead of getting into two tanks and two aav's. Also our pilots could have done something other then fly at 100m...

That one actually missed and hit just behind the tank, which then drove off and was blown up driving down the hill towards N Village.joethepro36 wrote:For the record, the first screen of a hellfire about to hit the tank was me, I think.

Re: The RAIN OF DEATH
Exactly, that's why it was me ![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/imported_icon_cool.gif)
Our conversation went a little like:
Me: hey gunner, did you hear that?!
gunner: Sounded like an explosion near us, maybe the havoc missed us.
Me: Oh christ -hears incoming hellfire-![Neutral ](./images/smilies/imported_icon_neutral.gif)
He didn't miss the second time...
