IEDing on Korengal

Post by Tartantyco »

-I had the most enjoyable round as an Insurgent on Korengal Valley today. I play Ambusher most of the time when I'm on the insurgent team but this round was epic. I had an uneventful first five minutes lying around down the road of the Out-Of-Main spawn for the Brits, hoping they'd be passing by, but apparently they'd all gone straight south. So I went into the spawn and took out the Bunker they'd built, resupplied, and headed down to the main road leading out of their base, lying in wait. My teammate, Fuzzy something was a little bit closer to the main base and got killed. The guy gloated and teabagged him; little did he know that I was just a bit up the road to avenge my fallen comrade! I set off the IED when he passed but he seemed unaffected by it, running behind a wall. However, with my epic Enfield skillz I took him out with ease.

I then headed up to Lyngial(Or whatever) and started recapping that flag. Around this time the LB spawned and the pilot flew around the map with two passengers sniping from the sides. I had just capped the flag and as a precaution I set an IED on the eastern entrance to the compound when the LB started flying around, the passengers trying to take me down. I was unsure of the explosive power of the IED but started goading the LB closer and closer to the base. Eventually it started hovering just around the place where the IED was and I set it off. Boom went the LB! At this point I started gloating ferociously over the chat  .

I then headed over to the center of the map, trying to place some IEDs there but was taken down by a pesky little humvee while trying to take out a Supply truck. As a cache was revealed close to the enemy main on the north side of the river I spawned in and took a technical up to it. A truck dropped off a squad in a field and I opened up with the .50 cal, taking out 3-4 guys before getting sniped. I quickly spawned in close to my old position, moving south in an attempt to out-flank the remnants of the squad. I killed two more guys in the field, but then an APC came crashing in and I was forced to hide. I was lying in the field with an APC 5m to the right, an enemy squad behind me and an enemy squad to my left. At one point I actually had two guys run over me. When I felt confident that they had moved away I popped up again, hoping to flank them, only to get a bullet planted in my face by some straggler...

I wrapped up the round by sniping three guys at the cache location with my trusty Enfield before being taken out again. The sight of that over-confident LB dropping from the sky as my IED went off was a memorable occasion indeed.
