It is fantastic! So today, I finally got to play my first full public round in it!
-----------
From the start, I was on China and joined up with a full squad. We had one heck of a great battle over the Airfield control tower. There are no jets there if you have not played it yet, but it is an abandoned WWII style airfield with all the amenities you would find in one.
Over the course of the round, my squad was waging a full on attack against the control tower with the USMC defending it. We had a rally point on the northeast side of the runway on the outer side of the fence in some tree clusters.
On the first major assault we put up, we were coming up on the outer fence and lining up against it.
At this point, we ran into out first problem. There's a USMC sniper on the tower hitting us hard and chipping away from us. We took cover in the shallow hills in the jungle, and fanned out. Out of the 6 of us, we had an officer, 3 riflemen, and 2 medics. Combined fire from the 4 of us with scopes in a fan pattern took him out eventually. We advanced in, and I took point, switching my QBZ rifle to automatic.
I take the first corner at the second floor of the tower and see 2 USMCs waiting. Unloading my clip, I manage to take both out, but am bleeding. I get patched up, and we take the flag. As soon as we do, a USMC squad moves in and retakes the building with a combination of rifle fire on the stairs and a grenade through the window.
After we regrouped at our rally, we moved it a bit closer and began to re-advance. Coming through the jungle, we see a sniper in one of the new wooden towers that is just North of the control tower *evil grin*
At this point, my squad assumes it is a normal static and proceeded to suppress him. Knowing about the new buildings as a former tester, I know better. So I hoof it out to the southeast away from them, raise up my light AT rocket, aim carefully while they continue to suppress him, and PSSSHHHHHHHFOOM! ------ BA-BOOM!
The tower top explodes into a million pieces, including the sniper. My squad proceed to start laughing hystarically over comms. They did not know you could destroy it, and were quite amused and satisfied at the exceptionally nice explosion effects.
At that point, I had to leave, but I am exceptionally satisfied with this new build. In testing, I saw it would be huge, and it has turned out to be even bigger then I thought it would be. I loooooove this new version! Big thanks to the team!
