[AAR] Epic Run on Muttrah

Post by xCaudex »

Today we were playing on Muttrah city as USMC. Our commander seemed good, but we were still pushed off of the docks. I was flying a huey in the pilot squad, whose leader was a sniper deep in the city. After getting the second crate to the docks for the firebase at landing zone A, the commander gave the go ahead to get crates at landing zone B, which was further into the city at the end of the canyon area.

I restocked on the carrier, and took the huey through the canyon for safety (there was aa at the docks, and a firebase swarming with tangos on the coast.) At the lz I start taking fire. Under fire, I quickly drop a supply crate, and am preparing to get out of there when I hear the squad leader yelling on the radio he needs an extraction because he's been spotted. I was the only chopper anywhere near the city, so i flew to him. I see him running through a backlot and out on to a street. I landed on the roadd, right behind him and he's still yelling on voip that he needs an extraction. Then he noticed me and jumped in. We quickly left, flying through the streets, and just as we hit the bay I hear that dreaded sound, an AA lock. QUICKLY I release flares, and try to get as low to the water as possible, and the squad leader yells something like, "We're dead" I hit flares until about the breakwater, when the siren goes off and it seems we're safe.

Then another siren. With no flares left, our chopper had no chance.

I disagree... Here he was leading a pilot squad so he didn't need to place rallies or anything, and he was spotting from inside the city, it worked out pretty well.

in this case he should either take
a) specops
or
b) officer kit
in order to lase targets in case the pilot squad gets hold of a cobra ;)

Sounds like a great run you had in the heli, I've had many great pilots drop me off into spots where the heli doesnt even fit...sounds like you are one of them.
Mad-Mike - Good photo's but why do u have 2 threads that are the same?
[R-CON]ReadMenace - Are you referring to the obvious double-post or the less obvious, high-resolution military photographs thread?

Nice run, I have so much respect for skilled helicopter pilots lol being completely inept at flying choppers both large and small i am always in awe when riding in a LB through narrow city streets or being evaced from the roofs of buildings.

For me its one of the biggest thrills of PR.
