[AAR] Snipers Handbook: The Road to Manhood - Volume 1: Your Best Shots

Post by Rapier »

Title is mainly a joke, but the last part isn't. Okay, so, to all you PR snipers out there, state your best shot, which map it was, approximate distance, the time of day/night, and any additional details in the following format. No lying.
Map:
Team:
Location: (Exact coordinates if possible)
Marksmen/Sniper:
Approx. Distance:
How long the bullet took to hit the target:
Additional Details:

Okay, me:
Map: Muttrah City V2
Team: USMC
Location: Northern Mountains
Marksmen/Sniper: Sniper
Approx. Distance: 1000 meters
How long the bullet took to hit the target: 2-3 seconds
Additional Details: Some guy was running around in the street, so while he was running horizontally, I hit 3, waited a few second, shot a foot or two in front of him, and he died. Was pretty epic.

Map: Muttrah City V2
Team: USMC
Location: The Tower to the north east of MEC Fortress
Marksmen/Sniper: Marksmen
Approx. Distance: 200-600 (i really cant remember what the distance is)
How long the bullet took to hit the target: 0.5-2 seconds

Additional Details: A enemy squad had completly given up on the map cuz the US were dominating so they had all grabed pilots kits and were base jumping from the fortress's highest tower. All 6 were standing on the turrets, i shot two before they new what was happening and then the other 4 jumped. 2 Managed to deploy their parachutes, 1 forgot and fell to the ground and 1 was shot in middair. Out of the two remaining one was killed wile gliding down and the last was killed wile running for an APC about 30 seconds later.
The bar of awesomeness has just been raised...Watch This

Kashan
MEC
Mountains
Sniper
1000-1500 feet
about 1.4 seconds

There were two guys standing side by side on the barbed wire fence wall. They were doing something. I couldn't see. Probably healing. I took out the the medic that was healing him. He turned around about 3 seconds later wondering what's going on, He moved a little bit and crouched. I had him in my sights, and took the shot. That was my pink mist.( Head Shot).

well, this was using a scoped battle rifle weapon at sniper range

Jabal
MEC
Mountains west of east beach
Rifleman-AT
350-500m
0.3-0.7 seconds

i took down a heli with a LAT kit. the chopper crash-landed, but 3 crew members survived. I shot two of them dead, then a full squad came over a hill to rescue the pilot. i fired on them, killing 2, then retreated around and up the mountain to gain a greater height advantage. I fired on the remainder of the squad, killing 2 more. the rest retreated. my accuracy during the engagement was about 20-40% with about 1/3 of my kills being headshots. (id say thats pretty damn good for a battle rifle at 300+ meters range)

Muttrah City
US
Rooftop near the mainroad
Sniper
7- 800 m
3 sec

Shoot a guy in a deployed AA (on a roof) 1 sec before our chopper comes in, i could see the guy tracking and be ready to fire. And then no more moves...And no Rocket release. Then the next take a seat, same again because i dont moved my crosshair...

The Pilot´s loved me in this round :-)

not to be a jerk or anything, but if the shot took one second to reach the target, then you must have been at around 1000 meters away.

well i wasnt timing it was i :O i just guessed an approximate time cos unfortunately i dont live in the matrix and therefore judging whether its 0.5 seconds or 1 second is quite hard

Not that it matters cos I have a new 1 :D

Map:Muttrah again
Team:US
Location: On the balcony of the building at the west of the city overlooking the docks
Marksmen/Sniper: rifleman scope
Approx. Distance: 200m
How long the bullet took to hit the target: no idea :P

Additional information: My squad were standing on the balcony watching our 2 squad mates who were in the apc wreak havoc on the MEC. A couple of us saw a guy running from right to left between 2 hangars and we opened up, with mine being the killshot :D difference being that this was whilst the enemy was moving.

Map: Assault on Mestia
Team: Militia
Location: Bunker south of munitions depot
Marksmen/Sniper: Marksman
Approx. Distance: 400m
How long the bullet took to hit the target: 0.75 secs

Additional information: My squad (squad 1) were defending the munitions bunker as we had been all round. We saw an enemy squad move into the hilltop bunker. I saw the SL set up an RP next to the bunker and as he got up from prone I shot and killed him. The medic for the squad ran to the SL to try and get him up and I shot him on run :D

And proceeded to cover the rest of his squad with bullets and intel as they went up close to the bunker to kill everyone there (dont forget that part ;) )

Are you saying I shudnt have shot at them anymore? They came up on our flank after they had been wiped out trying to come in from the bunker but we beat them off again. Was top SLing that round btw I hope to be in your squad again soon.

But seriously why not cover them in bullets? lol
