Scrounged some artsy ones up from my photobucket to get it started

From a real image I found online somewhere, I really like this one

Common PR pic that floats around, from a few versions back, was at one point in the screenshot thread. I think it was posted along with the sniper on the roof on Basrah[the dragunov one thats always posted :P ]

My try at NV.

From the pics that Supertimo posted, though the light from the sun isn't too common when using NVG.

Hmmm, I was thinking I should do that a bit more, unfortunately I had merged my original NV layer with the background, so whatever I changed with the colours affects the green layer as well, which didn't turn out nice when I played around with it :?

I think I did that one, not much done to it though. At least I have done exactly the same to the same picture for my desktop ages ago.

I forget if I used blur or smudge, maybe a mixture of both. Probably smudge as it 'smudges' the colors and makes it look more like a painting. Depending on what part you are working on you change the size of the brush. For the grass I used a small brush to get a finer set of lines, then for the sky and the soldier I used a bigger brush to get more solid colors out of the smudging. But yeah, might also be blur, I forget :P I made that like a year ago :P

Oh, and when youre done, if you want the canvas look, its one of the prerendered image effects you can add to the whole thing.
