[Vehicle] YPR-765 APC

Post by Glimmerman »

Model needed, any volunteers?

At the moment the model is still a low priority

AIFV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Length: 5,258 m
Width: 2,819 m
Hight: 2,794 m

Its Amphibious.

The YPR-765 PRI is currently the most common APC in use by the Royal Netherlands Army.

We require 2 versions:

YPR-765 PRI - Basic IFV vehicle with 25mm KBA-B02 cannon and a 7.62 mm machine gun.

YPR-765 PRI.50 - APC with cupola mounted .50 M2 machine gun. <- Done!

For both versions

I dont know but dint you guys agree to use the Bushmast ,Boxer anerd CV9035NL as dutch APC's, and not add the entire bundle of patria and YPRrs? not that i mind having all of the Dutch glory ingame however you can only drive one at a time. and some of them have the same tasks.

From a reliable source i got information that the CV9035NL wont go to Afghanistan, the YPR will remain there until the end of the mission.

Our faction will make other theathre maps next to afghanistan based maps and for change in some maps you will be able to drive a YPR where in another you will drive a CV90, same goes for the Bushmaster and the Patria XA-188.

It will probably go to Astan if we will stick around after 2010 and with similar numbers.

Well I am going to A'stan with in 2010, And Im pretty damn sure it wont be there within the next couple of years..
Just a couple of simple reson.

First of all we do not yet know how the new infantry setup is going to be..
CV90 have a 3 men vehicle crew. 1 seargant in the vehicle, and 1 seargant who wil go outside with the soldiers.
This means everything is going to change for us.

The second reson is YPR mechanical, CV90 uses alot of electronics.
Mutch more then the YPR..
Dust+ electronic equipment isnt the best combination. If something breaks down in the YPR we have Alot of spare parts and know how to fix it..When the new CV90 wil go there All personal should be re-trained to work with it.. Its just to new.

Good call, I see no reason why the Netherlands wouldn't help out too, if other NATO countries were to invade China, the Middle East or Russia. Hell, we could even have maps with Russia invading Poland, then Germany and onto the Netherlands if/when the current factions make it into the game.

I said after 2010 and with similar numbers. For instance if we're going to stick around for another 4 years with a large battlegroup.

The CV90 has been extensively tested in dusty enviroments and mechanical parts are pretty sensitive to dust as well. Keep your shit tidy. But what good would a vehicle be if it can't be send to a dusty environment?

For now the CV9035NL is being modelled and will be used in all maps, because PR is based in current time and in the near future we have to use our latest equipement.

The CV9035NL will replace the YPR eventually so 1st prio is to get that model ingame, when we have spare time to waste we can allways make the YPR.

Im not saing it cant be used in Dusty environments.
It just isnt the good thing to do..It would be wasting vehicles and money.
Why send a very expensive new vehicle to a warzone, if we have older vehicles witch can do the exact same job, if not better.

Btw of the topic, we heard a lot of mixed reactions about the testing.
especialy the Milkshake-syndrome seems to be a topic.
If you drive longer than 2 hours you getting sick from being shaked around. :-( they are still looking for a solution for it.

Because we want to do our best to bring you guys a beta release after .9 and we don't have a tracked APC yet, we want to make an YPR PRI out of an existing M113 model which was made by the EOD mod.

What we need is a modeler who can make the 25mm Oerlikon turret and a ERA package for both sides and front of the APC base model.

Image

* This is not a replacement for the CV90 but a temp placeholder and supplement to it!
