I think the Muttrah fort was build in peices so you can reshape it however you want it to be.

this new archer is pure awesomeness. archer has been one of my favorite maps, and i hardly EVER see it played on any servers. and i cant believe how people whine and complain about it. people need to stop playing insurgents like they are a conventional force. anyway so may i ask for a small favor? since its only temporary anyway until the canandians come in, do you think you could keep it USMC instead of changing it to army? because otherwise the USMC will have no afgan maps, and they have recently been redeployed to afghanistan so it would be kinda nice, even though its temporary.

Ok, some more updates...

Progress s good, light-mapping near 80%. Due to my Vista, I have to light map in sections :(

Nevertheless, here is some more intel on what archer now looks like (minus a few top-secret items)

This is Korengal but bigger, with choppers and enough space to manoeuver! WOOT, I'm gonna sound like those kids that can't wait for christmas :razz: hehe

Well, I think we have done well with the new changes and hopefully will be more stable too.

I really dig this mod team (reality mod) for the memberships constant push to learn, innovate, and research under the philosopy of upward and onward via collaboration. When I mapped for other platforms it was hardly as much fun or challenging. This is especially true when a mapper has a plethora of options such as pr.

This sucks, I loved Archer just the way it was with USMC. I'm a big Huey lover and would hate to see the Blackhawk on there, let alone having it switched to Canadian. Is there a reason why it had to be changed so much? I'm not concerned about the aesthetic stuff just the faction and probably equipment changes.

I thought it was a great map the way it was, IMO probably the most underrated/underplayed in the hole mod.

Umm ok I'm just realizing there's no longer an Edit post button, don't know why that is. But I just noticed an early post saying USMC was staying for now. Now I guess my only question would be why not just leave it USMC, but your Canadian so I guess thats why.

Hey Para, the new Archer looks fantastic. I remember when I saw the very first playable version back on the [DVB] server, with the huge map size, A-10's, Gunships, and everything else imaginable. It was an amazing piece of work then and it seems like it is only getting better with each version.

There is one thing I am curious about. Are you keeping / improving the mountain cave system? Previously found south of the Mosque city in the 0.8 version?

Cheers, Darth! Indeed the DVB'ers were the first Beta testers on this map... I first saved ones and zeros on this map in September 2006..lol
